I'm a little confused trying to get the setup working with the 9100. I can
key the 2232 into PTT, but not the 9100. I'm using a cable that I built 15
years ago to work with my 847 and 910. looking at the 9100 manual it sez I
can use the ACC port OR the DATA2 port. I'm thinking now with the 9100 I
might have to use the ACC connection on the 9100? Is anybody successfully
working 1200 or 9600 packet with a TNC and the 9100, with either the DATA2
or ACC port?

I'm using a 9100 with a PacComm Sprint-2. The cable setup is different than
the 910...it's one jack on the rig rather than two.

Kevin,

Have you tried to set it (the FT-991) as any other (I'd try all of
them, fiddling with the other settings as well!) Yaesu radio in
satpc32? Some manufacturers have common subsets of commands.

I'm assuming that HDSDR is running on a pc and that it is emulating a
TS-2000 (satpc32 set up the same way)?

The SDR's usually need some filtering on the front end to keep local
RFI and transmitter harmonics at bay. Easy enough to find. A little
work to get it tuned, though.

One of my rotators is a G-5400 on a tripod with casters. Rolled it
into and out of the garage. Great for testing antennas and the like.

Have fun,

In an attempt to increase the signal strength I added a LNA in front of my
AirSpy Mini

Whet I noticed was that the decodes went down

I tried some local signals

I noticed the signals were distorted.

So my advise is get antenna gain and high

Place the Software Defined Radio at the antenna

Be careful not to overload

Arrow and rotator coming

Listened to the 2200Z pass over NY and heard what I thought was SSTV
throughout the entire pass right in the middle of the transponder passband.

I could not decode with either DM-780 or MMSSTV.

Can anyone confirm what this could have been ?

Thanks

Frank,

This is noise that is internal to the satellite. I believe it is some
kind of image of the telemetry beacon that shows up in the
transponder's passband.

On some of the other XW-2s, you can also hear similar images at times
if you're in a quiet enough location to hear the transponder noise
floor, but its very prominent on XW-2D.

Paul, N8HM

All:

Paul, N1PEB, managed to work Falconsat via APRS mobile this evening --
little else in the way of APRS. I'll be monitoring the next pass.

In doing some Full-Scale adjustments to my G-5500 Rotor, I accidentally
fiddled with the Output Voltage Adjustments by mistake. Now everything is
fubar because I wasn't careful enough. Is there a guide somewhere to help
me get the Out Voltage setting back correctly? The Full Scale adjustments
are well documented in the manual. (BTW, I am using the LVB box, but have
it disconnected now). Thanks.
