For those who have not tried listening for RadFox,
here is what is being sent:

Transmission occur every 130 seconds or so and they
last about 13-14 seconds or so. Otherwise there is no
signal from the satellite.

Transmissions start with 2 seconds of dead carrier,
followed by 5 seconds of data only. Then there is
an announcement with data underneath that lasts about
3.6 seconds, followed by 1 second of data only. Finally
the transmission concludes with approximately 1.7 seconds
of dead carrier. All times are approximate.

The signal is good.

Congratulations to the engineering team for this
successful mission. We are hopeful that the satellite will
perform well when fully operational.

John K8YSE

?If you are using FoxTelem and want it to automatically grab the latest
keps, or be in sync with the name you are using in SatPC32, then you need
to change the name of the spacecraft from RadFxSat to AO-91. You can do
that from the spacecraft menu on the setup page. Put AO-91 in the name box
instead of RadFxSat. If you use a different source of TLEs now or in the
future, you can change that field to match.

And no, I'm not able to get the OSCAR number in advance so that I can build
it into the release :) It will be in future releases though.

Edson,

many thanks for sending this in and for the subsequent frames collected
from Brazil. We have very few stations collecting telemetry in South
America, so it was really important to get data from this part of the orbit.

Hello

I have seen the new bird a few times from other people now as recorded on an
SDR

I am seeing a short drift in tx frequency from 145.900 up to 145.960 MHz on
startup

Is this the LO coming into lock or a battery droop ?

That "drift" is the characteristic ?Fox Tail? of the Fox-1 series FM
transmitter.

Can someone please calculate for me a set of "dummy" geostationary keps for
my location PF95GD

I need the satellite to be at azimuth 180 deg and elevation 90 deg

I have tried several attempts and cannot get it precise :(

Hi Joe,

This is impossible. Elevation 90? would only be possible for a station
right on the equator. At your latitude (-34.875) the maximum elevation
you can get from a geostationary satellite is 55.125?, and the azimuth
for that elevation would be 0?.

73,

Dani.

I would have thought a geo sat can be positioned anywhere above the earth,

You are wrong, a GEO *must* be over the equator, see the article in Wireless

Ah,

That?s no problem at all, you just have to redefine the laws of physics and
you?re good to go ? . Probably easier to move your QTH.

The amount of thrust you would need would be enormous. Roughly the same
thrust that you would need to keep the satellite hovering a few meters
over the ground.
