Can someone point me in the direction of good plans for turnstile and egg
beater antennas.? Preferably in English measurements.? I have a friend
building a ISS igate and wants to try these antennas for receive.

KC3FQF has been active fairly recently from DE. His address on QRZ is
listed as PA, but he was giving his location as Delaware on the air, and

Anyone digipeating through SKCUBE?? While we have been using it to test
pointing at a ground station in Fairbanks we noted some occasional 9k6
packets in the 'quite' period between CW and telemetry downlink sequences.

Is anyone successfully using the Funcube Dongle Pro+ to capture Fox
telemetry?? Just started working with it and don't seem to be having much
luck.? I can select the dongle and the program seems to be seeing data but
not getting any real time decode. Any pointers would be much appreciated.

Scott,
It?s what I?m using and it works well.
Just make sure to set the center frequency well away from what you you want
to receive, due to the DC spike.
In the input tab, try setting the frequency to 145.930, and in each
spacecraft set up there is a check box to the the FCD scan for the satellite
downlink frequency.
Mine are working great with 2m and 70cm egg beater antennas.

Hi Jim.
In the past I have monitored several passes but the digipeater never seemed
to be active except over Europe or Asia. There is even a count-down timer
on the telemetry that I see posted by others and when it has shown active,
by the time it would have gotten over the US, the digipeater was not going
to still be enabled.
Were you able to decode the packets to see what they were?

Our team recorded several passes over AK but hasn't looked at the data
yet, and folks are all headed out for family trips and the like. Perhaps
next week we will get a look at it.
It's a curiosity for us.? The objective of listening to it is to assure
that station works when the next two LASP cubesats launch (MinXSS2 and
CSIM).

An International Space Station school contact has been planned with
participants at I.C. Villasanta, Villasanta Italy and College Pierre de
Fermat, Toulouse, France on 22 Nov. The event is scheduled to begin at
approximately 08:43 UTC. It is recommended that you start listening
approximately 10 minutes before this time.The duration of the contact is
approximately 9 minutes and 30 seconds. The contact will be a telebridge
between NA1SS and K6DUE. The contact should be audible over the east coast
of the U.S. Interested parties are invited to listen in on the 145.80 MHz
downlink. The contact is expected to be conducted in Italian / English.
I.C. Villasanta, Villasanta, Italy
"Enrico Fermi" Middle School is located in the center of Villasanta a small
town near Monza in the North of Italy, there are 450 students and 40
teachers. Since year 2014, our school and "Pierre de Fermat" Middle School
have been involved in a twinning project based on online communication and
exchange visits. Our Italian Middle School will be in charge of establishing
the TELEBRIDGE contact; ARISS technical mentors in Villasanta will help us
on logistics and equipment.
The French and the Italian students will ask questions in Italian from their
respectful schools. ARI "Erba" is the amateur radio school club cooperating
with us (12-14).
College Pierre de Fermat, Toulouse, France
"Pierre de Fermat" Middle School is located in the centre of Toulouse in the
South of France. There are 900 students and 40 teachers. Since year 2014 our
French Middle School and the Italian "E. Fermi" have been involved in a
twinning project based on online communication and exchange visits.

Hello
I would like to write a perl script to eventually graph the doppler shift of
ISS, Falconsat and Fox1-B over time using LINUX
Has anyone a script that can act as a server that gpredict can connect to
and would spit out data ?
I just used netcat and saw data
Just curious someone might have already done this ?

Nice work
I was thinking about a LINUX based MySQL database that does a SYNC to a
master dartabase when connected to the net
You see the data in front of you but then bang it populates with the master
server when you connect.
I would make an IOS app but I am too busy making satgates and the cube sats
are popping out faster than I can keep track of ?
Web browser interface locally using perl ( cgi ) web page to enter details (
can pre-populate )
Do you have experience with MySQL databases, web portals and Internet
scripts using python ?

Hello all,
One of the challenges that I've had since starting to work satellites is my
logging workflow. I don't always get back to my logging app to log QSOs
immediately, I have found it challenging to get all the right settings to
get LOTW to match, and some logging apps don't even allow me to type all the
right settings in. I hated having to fill in 10 fields per QSO, that always
seemed to reset to the wrong values with every QSO!
I wrote myself a little Python console app to improve my workflow, and I
want to share Python Satellite ADIF or pysatadif with you.
For instance, if there is an SO-50 pass where I make several QSOs, I would
type:
pysatadif --satname SO-50 --timeon 1450 --qsodate 20171119 --qso KO6RM,DN70
--qso N0CALL,EL99
I can add as many QSOs per pass as I need. I can leave off the date if the
QSO was on the current UTC day.
The software pulls my station defaults including rig, power, and my grid
square from a defaults file (automatically generated for you on first run),
and pulls frequency, band, and mode from a directory of satellite info.
These can be overridden for you rovers and special event ops out there.
The resulting ADIF output can be imported into your favorite logging app,
TQSL or whatever else you'd like.
If this sounds interesting, you can install pysatadif on Windows, Mac or
Linux using Python 2.7 or 3.6 by running 'pip install pysatadif'.
