For those that have not been following AMSAT on Twitter or Facebook, we have
done a few camera runs with AO-92 with very good results. A pass this
morning yielded 4 good images, two of which I have located their position on
the ground. The images can be seen at
http://www.amsat.org/tlm/fox1d/images/index1.html

Some side by side comparisons with Google Earth and NOAA images can be found
at: https://twitter.com/AMSAT/status/953294176933896195 and
https://twitter.com/AMSAT/status/953304248162406401 .

Congratulations again to Virginia Tech, and thanks for providing the camera
experiments for AO-92 and Fox-1Cliff!

should be there.

Transponder mode was left on as part of testing, and turned off on the next
US pass.

Please continue not to uplink to AO-92, although the commissioning and
command teams really appreciate signal reports and especially telemetry
uploaded to the server.

We especially appreciate telemetry from folks who are located in places
that have not historically sent much telemetry such as India. A big thank
you to VU2IIA, VU3TYG, VU3BOJ from India. We have also received telemetry
from Eastern (and Western) Russia, China, Japan, Africa, Eurasia, and many
other countries and areas around the world. THANK YOU ALL!

I updated the files for my copy of Gpredict a short while ago. I have
it set up that it gets the TLEs from Celestrak. There's a file for
NORAD object 43137 but it doesn't appear that the given name has been
revised to AO-92.

I fixed that after a few minutes of editing and added a file for the
transponder as well.

In an attempt to behave differently than I normally do...I'll try to
keep this one short.

Quick warning....I'm speaking personally here, not on behalf of VT or
anything, though I know there are many that share my sentiments here.

This entire experience would not have been possible without AMSAT and
the Amateur Radio community.? And I don't just mean the obviously
awesome folks that are on the Engineering team and the Operations team
that have helped us so much along the way.? I also mean everyone out
there collecting telemetry and forwarding to the server.? We wouldn't
have made it without the entire community backing us up, and we
recognize that!

So for all of AMSAT and everyone else, HUGE thank you from VT.? I hope
the partnership continues for as long as possible with as many missions
as possible.

Thanks again!

An alternate TLE source you may consider is n2yo.com. The TLE repository is
not advertised, but for those interested, this is the location:
http://www.n2yo.com/tle2/
In that foloder the keplerian elements are organzied by categories, 18.txt
being 3-line element set for Amateur Radio satellites.
The full path is http://www.n2yo.com/tle2/18.txt
The list is compiled from different sources, mainly AFSPC, and it is updated
on a hourly basis.

Subject: [amsat-bb] 488 US Grids Completed

On Sunday I was able to log the last grid I needed to complete the 488 US
grids . I would like to publicly thank Doug - N6UA for going out of his way
to help me get DN23 in my log. Without the efforts of many portable
satellite operators like Doug it would not be possible to achieve this
accomplishment.? In reviewing my log I would like to acknowledge the help of
the following "top ten" portable operators and provide the number grids that
I received because of their efforts
1 ND9M 332 K8YSE 273 AC0RA 234 W5PFG 205 WC7V 126 WD9EWK 117 KA6SIP 108 NJ7H
? 89 AA5CK 710 KB5WIA 610 KB0RZD 6
Many thanks to all of the operators that helped me throughout the years.
73,
Ron - N8RO
