In case anyone is interested, I put my iCom-910h up on eBay. It's a super
clean one. I just haven't been active on the birds, so it made better sense
to let someone else put this radio to better use than I.

Hi,

I am playing with a new feature that will be included into the FUNcube
warehouse that is under development:

Capturing the sub-sat point for each packet received so that I can get a
rough picture of the coverage (this is from my turnstile without preamp).

The site I'm using for ideas is: https://www.darrinward.com/lat-long

I can get all your FUNcube sub-sat points from the database if you should be
interested.

I have a written a web service that will get the realtime position, which
emits JSON:

E.g.:

http://satpredict.badgersoft.com/satellite/position/39444?latitude=52.4670&lon
gitude=-2.022&altitude=200
ngitude=-2.022&altitude=200>

{"latitude":"1.26","longitude":"158.76","altitude":"618.60","azimuth":"23.28",
"elevation":"-60.43","range":"11805.61","rangeRate":"-3.38"}

help from WISP users.
after about a week of normal operation on Falconsat 3, I started only seeing
from Falconsat:
one line of C0,C1,ETC CODE lines followed by the BRC data, then five lines
of PHT data, then repeating.
I suspect some WISP settings have changed.
can someone point me in the right direction?
thank you.

Hi Peter. I had to check this to make sure my memory was correct. It looks
like the 9612 can't do 9600 baud on both ports.

https://www.kantronics.com/products/kpc9612.html

So, to help with anyone looking for a TNC to do this via hardware I will
start a list here. I'm running my trusty old AEA DSP 2232. I also have an
old Symec TNC3S 9600/38400 that appears to be able to be modded to work at
9600/9600. I emailed a contact listed on Symec's web site for instructions
on how to do so and never got a reply. If anyone want's to mess with the
Symec, make me an offer. Some of the guys accessing the PACSAT are doing it
with software modems, maybe one of you guys can help Peter out...

Hello,

I?m considering purchasing a Kantronics KPC- 9612 to use for Falconsat-3, is
anyone using this unit for FS3 and is it plug-play? If anyone has used
this unit in the past on older satellites with WISP I would also be
interested in your comments, thank you.

I used the 9612 on AO-51. It should be fine for Falconsat-3.

The KPC 9612 works great for FS3.? You only need one port.? If using two
radios build a cable from that port to both radios.

That does not sound normal... I am not seeing that, so I don't think
anything changed on the server.

Is it still updating the directory? Or is it full of holes?

There are much more experienced PacSat users than me who may be able to
advise.

Hello Christy,

Wish I could help, but nothing comes to mind. Are you using software to
decode? Or a TNC? I can't tell for sure where you are seeing the text you
reference.

What brand of mast mounted pre-amps are you using and do they sense RF for
switching out of the feed line?

I use the SSB, and yes they RF switch, are coax fed, will handle high power
and have bandpass filters. Quality stuff.

I'm using SSB Electronic preamps, and yes, they do RF sensing/switching.

I run separate DC power to mine because someday I might want to use a
sequencer, but you can also power them up the coax.

In my case I use the following for 144mhz & 432mhz, but because I run higher
than 25 watts, I have the 160 watt units. 25 watt units are available.
I use a Advanced Receiver Research mast mounted preamps at my station.

144mhz MSP144VDG-160432mhz MSP432VDG-160
Both units can be powered over coax if you order them with the optional bias
choke. They are both capable of handling 160 watts and switch when they see
arriving tx power.

On 1,296 (23cm) I am now using a SHF MVV-1296 SP23 23cm Masthead
Preamplifier which does the same as the ARR units above and comes standard
with the ability to go power over coax. It can handle 100 watts.
