I'm new to this list and new to satellites also, so I would appreciate some
help. Is there anyone out there who uses a Fox Delta ST3 trackbox and would
be able to give me advice on a problem I am having with it?

I?ll also try to do a better job listening for it. It is one of only a
couple of birds that I haven?t made a QSO. Seems like the good passes only
come over pretty late at night.
FS-3 is the other bird, but I am now prepared to work it when the orbits
cycle back around here in a week or so.

Wow...i am blown away by ISS Detector! Like Don, I passed it by because I
assumed it only dealt with ISS, and not any ham satellites...I had NO idea
it had so many features!

I purchased the Pro version for my tablet, and downloaded the original with
the amateur satellite add-on for my smartphone

Thanks again for the ISS Detector recommendation. Virgilio HP2VX also
recommended this app in a private email to me, and Pedro LU7ABF reminded me
of the AMSAT-Argentina website tracker, so thanks to them as well!

When I first saw it I thought the same thing. The feature that is the
killer feature for me is also the filtering. I can see at a glance
what sats are coming up. I love it when I have a spare hour or
whatever. I can just open it up and see if there is something and go.
Don't have to predict and plan passes out days in advance.

there is a regular group that uses these XW sats, including 2A, in the early
am on the western passes. The evening passes
I have noticed minimal use.

Hi,

My congratulations to the writers of ISS Detector. It has all the features
that I would like
to have added to AMSATDroidFree but I now have other priorities (tempus fugit)

To that end, I am making the source code to AMSATDroidFree available on a
public
repository on GitHub for those of you who like to tinker.

I should like to thank all the people who given me suggestions and have
downloaded it over
the years and are still using the application.

While looking at boards for sdr and remote receiver I ran across a board

it might be of some interest. Its a competitor for the raspberry pi with
several variations.

I too am struggling with how to get RF out on 1.2ghz. Right now Im leaning
toward the SG-Labs 1296 transverter (1296/144) which I think someone
mentioned sometime back. Many positive reviews on moon-net. If you have any
interest in local repeaters or EME on 1296, along with activating AO92 via L
band, for $198 PNP, this is hard to beat.

Paul, N8HM, successfully worked AO-92 L-band with an Alinco DJ-G7T handheld
transceiver, with 1 watt, fed into a 16 element 23cm yagi (Comet
CYA-1216e).? The 1-watt HT had no problem getting into the tested 15-degree
AO-92 pass. The only issue with the Alinco is with RX filtering.? While it
is a full-duplex capable HT, N8HM reported he had to use a separate receiver
to be able to hear his downlink.
The SG Lab 1296-144 transverter puts out 2 watts @ 12vdc and 2.5 watts at
13.8vdc. This would give you twice as much output power as the HT.? The SG
Lab transverter comes set up to work at 1296 MHz.? You must open it up and
switch some jumpers to be able to operate at the required 1267 MHz. Wyatt,
AC0RA, switched the jumpers and successfully tested his SG Lab transverter @
1267 on a non-satellite, terrestrial contact.
Either of the above two options (HT or transverter) will get you started on
AO-92, but don't just focus on power.? Frequency steps are just as
important.? 5 KHz (or smaller) step is best, 10 is workable with some fading
between steps, 25 kHz (although not tested yet) will likely be problematic.
FYI - I have the Alinco DJ-G7T, SG Labs 1296-144 transverter, Kenwood
TM-942, and Icom IC-910H, along with a Comet CYA-1216e yagi and Directive
Systems 2314 loop yagi. Will start testing/comparing once AO-92 is switched
over to L-band (L/v) operations.

Good day to all. Related to my previous post, please check this link for an
interesting NBFM transceiver board for L-band uplinks:

Now I just need to find time!

article. The transceiver described is for ATV, but it looks like like it
will tune to the AO-92 uplink frequency. Seems to put out 400mw FM out. I am
not able to take time now to review deeper (stealing away from work) but I
look forward to parsing through the schematic/links this weekend. I am
forwarding this notice for anyone who will be able to get there sooner. I
think there is some potential here, and I would like to know other? opinions.
