Hi Butch,
With the IC-7000 the default address is $70? (= hex 70) as far as I know.
The IC-7100 has no own item in the 'Model' list in the setup menu.
Choose the compatible IC-7000.? Of course,?? the address must be the one
of the IC-7100.? You will find it in the manual in the chapter about the
CAT commands. The examples usually use the address of the particular radio.
With the up/down controls you can changes the address values (first for
Downlink, second for uplink). With a single radio? both values must be
equal.
The "Address Ok" button transfers the values to the data file. To save
the settings click the "Store" button.

I heard 2.4 GHz signal from DTUsat-2 for the first time in a few weeks
and I confirmed that it was transmitting every 30 seconds. I usually
hear it immediately after AOS, but this time I heard a stable signal
at 2401.843MHz +/- doppler when it passed TCA.

Nice 30 degree max pass over Vermont starting about 1415 UTC.
I had about 3-4 minutes of no one in the passband, so did a bit more
fine tuning of frequency on L band. I was using +8.5 kHz. SATPC32 was
doing the calculations.
I reduced power to 1 watt and found best frequency was about 0.5-1 kHz
higher. So I've set Doppler.sqf to use +9 kHz. We'll see how it goes on
the next pass.

I am trying to set up a rotor interface using an Arduino and a Yaesu GS-550.
The Arduino interface by Tom Doyle W9KE is shown here

It shows up at Com 3 in device manager.
My problem is that when I uses Sat32PC > setup > rotor, there are no

The other hints for ARS, DDE, etc. do show up.
Any and all help appreciated.

Hi Bruce,
I looked at the webiste. It says that particular tracker uses the Yaesu
GS-232 format for the data from the PC. So, in SatPC32, under the Rotor
menu and Rotor Setup, tell it you have a Yaesu GS-232 interface/controller.
SatPC32 then launches a little windowed program called ServerSDX that you
then must set up for proper COM port number and rate, etc. Read the
SatPC32 docs for more help and explanation.
A bit of fiddling and work will be required to get everything right, but
magic once you get it running properly!

I heard a good number of people experimenting with the L-band uplink
on AO-92 tonight on the 0224 UTC pass. Really wish I could get in on
the club ;-)
I heard N8MH, WB8RJY, WB8OTH, AA5PK, N8HM, and KC9ELU.
Here is my recording from a Kenwood TH-D72 with an Arrow. I didn't
pick the antenna up off the ground until about 1:07. I had the audio
really low in the first 4 minutes too.

ESA's Aeolus satellite has been particularly tricky to build. One of
the main stumbling blocks has been getting its lasers to work in a
vacuum, but recent tests on the satellite show that the vacuum or

28-Mar-2018 for the Es'hail 2 satellite carrying the world's first
geostationary amateur radio service in S-band/X-band ranges via its
AMSAT-DL hosted payload.

Commercial payloads on Es'hail 2 include 24 Ku-band and 11-Ka-band

GOLF-TEE Presidents' Challenge Ends February 15th
One week to go in the GOLE-TEE Presidents' Challenge! Please
consider a donation to help kick start the next generation
of AMSAT satellites.
In October 2017, AMSAT announced the GOLF (Greater Orbit, Larger
Footprint) program. The first project of the GOLF program is a
technology demonstrator named GOLF-TEE (Technology Evaluation
Environment). The design is a 3U CubeSat with deployable solar
panels, ADAC (attitude determination and control), Software Defined
Radio (SDR) Transponder, and a Vanderbilt University Low Energy
Proton (LEP) experiment. Now is the time to begin work on the
GOLF-TEE Project.
At the end of 2017, AMSAT has generous offers from two AMSAT Past
Presidents for matching funds up to $15,000 for those that contri-
bute to the GOLF-TEE campaign between now and February 15th. Make
your donation twice as valuable by taking advantage of this oppor-
tunity and contributing, and help AMSAT fund the launch of the next
series of satellites of the GOLF program. Planning is for a launch
in 2019.
Donations of $100 and $1,000 or more will be eligible for a special
AMSAT GOLF premium. (Both premiums are currently being designed,
so please be patient awaiting delivery.)

Object 43199 has apparently been identified as Shaonian Xing (Youth
Sat).
So the unknown satellite that identifies itself as MXSAT-1 is
actually the student satellite Shaonian Xing. It also means this
satellite does not transmit on its coordinated frequencies. Let's
wait and see if its FM repeater will be activated and on which
frequencies it will operate.

Paul Marsh, M0EYT gives an introduction into deep space mega-DX, the
equipment needed and the techniques used to identify extremely weak
signals coming from man-made space probes in various parts of our
solar system. X-Band (8.4GHz) is the primary band of discussion but
Paul also talks briefly about S and Ka reception equipment and
antennas.
You can receive signals from spacecraft in excess of 1 billion Km
with
a modest size dish in your garden. If you have an interest in EME or
microwave weak signal reception, Amateur DSR can help you push the
limits
of what is possible with home-built equipment.

at one-half the standard yearly rate. Post-secondary school students
enrolled in at least half time status shall be eligible for the stu-
dent rate for a maximum of 6 post-secondary years in this status.
