I believe it comes pre-tapped with a 1/4-20 hole. I didn't like the
positioning, so I machined an aluminum "saddle" that bolts to boom, and
that in turn is threaded onto the tripod mount. I also machined an
extension and counterweight that makes manipulating the antenna much easier.

All the Arrow antennas have the standard tripod 1/4-20 screw thread
tapped into them at the end of the boom. I have found it not always
sufficient to hold it, but it seems to work for a lot of people.

Hello fellow Bird Folk,

Tomorrow I venture above the 60th Parallel to the land of Anchorage. I will
be active from BP41/51/50. The base of activity will be BP51, but 41 is very
easy (line is on the airport, and I will be working at the airport) and 50
will be about a 25min drive. Should be good opportunities for all of NA, a
good portion of Europe, and most of Japan/Eastern Siberia. This is a work
trip so time will revolve around that, most activity will be evenings. I?ll
be back to Juneau on a Friday afternoon so it?s only a Monday-Friday gig.
I?ll warn specific passes on Twitter and open for skeds if anyone has a
particular request.

I put a counter weight type setup on mine as well. Helpful tips/ideas from
K3RRR & KG5CCI to make a place to attach my D74A and duplexer; they make
great ballast!

Hi Dave, it?s a one time license payment. Linked to your call sign. If you
have the same call, the registration will work on the current and future
versions. If you changed your call, contact Martha in the AMSAT office.

Great value ;) and all license fees collected go to AMSAT thanks to
Erich!!!

I use a piece of 1/8 in thick by 1/2in angle aluminum about a foot long
(scrap from my metal pile, available at Lowe's/Home Depot/Ace
Hardware/etc.).? I tapped a 1/4in by 20 hole in it for the tripod camera
mount, and then use two hose clamps to attach the foam grip portion of
the arrow antenna to the angle aluminum. I use pretty sturdy all
aluminum Velbon tripods (Ebay), so no counterweight needed.? If the 1/4
threaded attachment isn't 'sturdy' or is difficult to get nice and
tight, then you can get a side to side slip of the antenna around the
1/4in tripod screw, particularly when you rotate for polarization.? To
resolve this I added two small pieces of 1/16" angle aluminum on the
'underside' of the 1/8" angle aluminum to 'grip' the front and back edge
of the tripod 'plate.'

Questions:

I can do groups, but why am I limited to 12 satellites per group?
Why does amateur.txt not have CAS-4A and CAS-4B?
Why, when I switch to nasa.all which does have CAS-4A and CAS-4B, do my list
of satellites change? When I switch back to amateur.txt, my previous edit
is not saved?

The only reason I use SatPC32 is the ability to download Doppler.sqf files.
If not for that, I would jump to HR Deluxe (free version v5). Not
complaining, just saying...
