Hi Folks,

I am going crazy to set the list of the satellites.

What I do is:

I go in the standard group and select the satellites for the Amateur.txt
click on OK

Re enter in the Satellite list and select Cubesat.txt.

I find already some satellites than I try to put other ones. click on OK

Re enter in the Satellite list and get back in the Amateur.txt list

And I can see that some satellites are disappeared from the selected list.

Is that normal?

How I have to do to select different satellites in each list?

Thanks

Hi Vincenzo,

On http://amsat.org.ar/keps.txt is a list of all available Satellites, you
can use or check.

It is updated 6 times a day and in use from http://amsat.org.ar/pass

Hi Vincenzo,
when you selected the satellites for group? 'Standard' from amateur.txt
as source file click the OK button of menu 'Satellites'. That will save
the list and the name and path of amateur.txt for that group. At future
starts the program will track the same satellites using amateur.txt as
source file.

When you change the source file the program will only leave the
satellites in the list for which also the new source file contains data.
If you click OK the program will save the new list and the new source
file name.

To configure another group open the groups window (click on the empty
area of the main window right or left of the frequency window) and
double click on the name of the? group you want to track or to
configure, say Cubesat. The program will now track group Cubesat. Open
menu 'Satellites', choose a source file - say cubesat.txt - and select
the satellites you want to add to that group. Then click OK? to save the
cubesat list and name and path of file cubesat.txt.
Do the same with the other groups.
To have an overview over the satellites contained in the chosen group
leave the Countdown window constantly open.

I noticed that as well.? I think it was probably a typo.? I am pretty sure
it is 435.225 but will need to monitor both frequencies after deployment.??

Adding some details and one question.

IRAZU telemetry is FSK9k6 at 436.500 MHz source: [1]
UBAKUSAT telemetry is GMSK9k6 at 437.325 MHz source: [2]
1KUNS-PF telemetry is FSK9k6 at 437.300 MHz source: [3]

The question is about UBAKUSAT, in some sites like IARU's one [4] refers
that CW is at 427.225 MHz, while in other sites like amsat-uk's one [5]
refers it at 437.225. Any idea which is the right one?

Hi All

Earlier this week I again recovered IMAGE on S-band. The spacecraft
started a series of eclipses and the first one appeared to cause IMAGE
to reboot and start transmitting again. After the initial recovery in
January of this year IMAGE faded away in late February.

NASA is now trying to reestablish control of the spacecraft and has been
actively attempting with some success to have the spacecraft accept
commands over the last couple of days.

A number of phenomenon have been observed that has challenged the ground
controllers to understand what is going on with the spacecraft and they
have asked for amateurs to contribute s-band signal data particularly as
the spacecraft passes through eclipse.

If you have access to equipment and are suitability located to
contribute observations please contact me for more information and
support in sharing your observations with NASA.

Thanks,

Scott Tilley

   Received around 0500 UTC orbit nr 12 (?) 437.325 MHz GMSK 9k6, a
frame about each minute. Nothing from IRAZU nor 1KUNS-PF till now.
At the same time, near IRAZU, was something, narrow, looking like
1K2, about 437.300.

   Have a nice day !

Hi Jean-Pierre!

I assume that's 1KUNS-PF on 437.300 but as many others are saying on
Twitter, the signal looks like 1k2 BPSK (USB).

However, as of the time I'm writing this, it doesn't look like it's
decoding for anyone, including myself. I even tried it with LSB "just in
case".

My packets were fairly strong and the 9k6 FSK signals from Irazu (436.500)
and UBAKUSAT (437.325) decoded just fine.

So, as for the transmissions on 437.300, if they are 1k2 BPSK then perhaps
there is some corruption. No doubt we'll learn more in coming days as the
signals are looked at by some in the community who have the knowledge to
dig deeper into the packets.

73!

I understand that there won't be a good answer for how old can TLE's be
before they're of no use. If you were going to be offline for an
extended period, roughly, for a LEO, how long would you go before
they're worthless?

For everything other than the ISS and lower, weeks. For sats in 600km and
higher, probably months if you are manual tuning and pointing.

YMMV.

Hello Everyone,

By the way...
How to get the TLE from the past? eg. to check something form the past
for some date in the past... such as 30 Apr. 2012?

Depends on what your margin for error is. In other words, define
"worthless."

In general, I update keps weekly. But for most LEOs and casual ham
operation, you could probably go 90 days or more and still find most birds
with your Arrow and handheld within a few minutes.

For ISS or other spacecraft with the ability to adjust the orbit with
thrusters, etc., you'd only be good until the next orbit boost.
