 Hello Group
I'am currently replacing the motors on my AlfaSpid RAS and the azimuth
motor is no problem but on the elevation motor there is what I call a
hidden screw. It's tucked away down in the housing. you can see it and get
a screwdriver to it,BUT, there is no slot for the screwdriver. The head is
hollowed out as for a allen wrench,BUT, no hex for the wrench to grab. I
don't think that it has been rounded out because I bought the rotor new and
it's never been apart before by me. All the other attaching screws are flat
headed screws so not sure why this one is different. Anyway I was wondering
if anyone else has had any experience with this before ?

Hi John,

You can also contact Spid in Polen directly. They have been very helpful:

It might be in the documentation on the CD, being so close to having
my WRAPS working I'd rather not mess anything up at this point. The
mechanical construction is done, although I have the box turned on edge
so the PC board will mount sideways, I can work with that. The
elevation and azimuth motions are centered up and move quietly and
freely (about 22mA each motor operating continuously with no load at
9V). The XBee modules files have been uploaded, but I haven't taken
mounted one on the WRAPS board yet, as I haven't done any further
configuration to the modules. Are there changes that need to be made
to the XBee module files before installing them on the WRAPS board?
Are there things I should check or look for before final assembly and
testing?

  Thanks

     Ron VE8RT

Ron:

The XBee modules need to be programmed in order to work together.

Hopefully you have a USB board that you can plug an XBee module into,
and plug into your computer, in order to (1) update the firmware (just a
good practice in general) and (2) configure the two of them to work
together.

You'll need a USB board to connect one of the XBees to your computer to
use it for tracking.? Same board for programming them.

Hi OMs,

Just found that the DSLWP proxy does not work with new versions of tornado.

This issue will make the upload of data fail, so it is important to fix it.

To fix this bug, please close the proxy, open a new terminal, and type in
the following commands:

sudo python -m pip uninstall tornado

sudo python -m pip install tornado==4.5.3

The password is lilac

After running these commands, the issue should be fixed.

Best regards,

Hi All,

FUNcube-1 is now operating in autonomous mode until Friday evening (UTC).

The transponder will be on in eclipse and switch to high power telemetry
only when in sunlight.

Thanks David,

the firmware update I've taken care of after seeing that there was
nothing to "read" from them.

I have a pair of USB boards, the second one was to for a back up.
Is what I need to know for the configuration in the .bmp file on the CD
that came with the WRAPS kit from AMSAT?

A friend with a 3D printer has offered to make me an enclosure for
the USB adapter & XBee, having had the unfortunate experience of having
the table and gear dumped into a puddle by a burst of wind during a
thunderstorm at Field Day years back I now make more effort to protect
things.

I want to thank everyone for their help. I did finally figure it out and to
make a long story short it is a allen head screw. I got a inspection L.E.D
light down in the hole so I could see better and my allen wrench barely
reached it but I did get it out. So I'm on the way now.
