When the batteries get low it goes into safe mode to protect them.

Satellite Folks,

It there a software package that can fully control a Funcube Dongle
Pro+ and emulate a traditional receiver? A la frequency control fine
enough for SSB doppler adjustments?

I have used the FDP+ as a pan-adapter on satellite but not the primary
receiver. The FDP+ is a better receiver than the Baofeng - if it can
be controlled with good granularity.

Paul, here are some specifics for SDR# and FCDP/FCDP+, even RTL-SDRs are
supported.

Here is link to SDR#
https://airspy.com/download/ I assume you're running Windows? Top file
option.

It's quite easy to get going, once you get a feel for it.

After you have SDR# running with your FCDP+, then go get the SatPC32 plugin
here:
http://www.satsignal.eu/software/DDETracker.html

Specifically, get this file first:
http://www.satsignal.eu/software/DDETrackerV8Binaries.zip

Use the website and the files in the .zip to get it configured. The key is
to edit a config file and to add a specific line of text, that way the new
DDE Sat plugin will show up in SDR#

Once you have it configured, then update the DLL with this one, to be current:
http://www.satsignal.eu/software/DDETracker.dll-20-Aug-2017.zip

If successful ;) a new plugin will appear on the left column in SDR#. You
click it, tell it you're using SatPC32 (needs to be running!), and click to
start it...pretty intuitive. Then SDR# will track the downlink frequency
and mode of the receiver freq. in SatPC32. Very slick :)

Hello all,

FM-only rove 6/14 1300z to 1700z in the oddly desirable FN33.

I will stand by for more exotic grids. I may not be in position for the
1323z AO-92 pass ? but if I am, it?ll be from the Malta Drive-in. DIPLOTA?

If you miss me this time, I will probably be back later this summer, maybe
for an FN23/33 double feature.

Just a note that this usually happens toward the end of the time when it is
out of the sun (in eclipse). It should resume regular transponder mode
when it re-enters the sun. There seems to be an odd bug which I have not
yet figured out such that under some circumstances it stays in safe model
and has to be commanded back on.

Keith,

Thanks for the info, being on the manifest is a good news already but for
sure some confirmation required, I believe this was the purpose of your
e-mail.

I am ready this side for it and awaiting the bird to be active.

TNX for the additional information. I have heard it in safe mode but not
this many days in a row. But I have only been on the birds since the
beginning of the year. I was worried it was a terminal problem. 73 Mike? K4MIA

Hi Folks,

Due to operator availability, I have switched FUNCube into full time

We plan to switch is back to educational mode on Sun evening (UTC) as usual.
