Hi All,

Just to let you know that AO73/FUNcube-1 is now in continuous amateur

I am hoping to get into mobile satellite operations soon, and at times I
will be able to operate portable with a dualband yagi antenna. . Other
times, though, I will be on family trips and unable to stop for satellite
passes, so would have to operate while in motion. Are AO91, AO91, and the
XW-2 satellites able to be worked using a 1/4 wave or 5/8 wave dualband
mobile whip antenna?

Wxtrack is for tracking satellites.

You could record the pass and use SatSignal or Google APT Decoder and see
what other apps are available.

One week from today, Robert KE4AL, Rich N4ESS, and myself, NJ4Y will be on
Garden Key, EL84np in the Dry Tortugas. Robert and I will be active on all
amateur satellites, while Rich will be operating HF CW for the grid chase. I
will also be on 6m FT8, SBB and CW for as long as my batteries hold up.

We will be arriving on the island mid-day on Friday July 6, staying all day
Saturday, and then leaving Sunday morning July 8.

We will be using the callsign K4R, and all logs will be uploaded to LOTW
after the trip. Paper cards will be available on request via NJ4Y.

The K4R QRZ page is up to date with our info, as well as k4r2018.com.

We will also be able to tweet via a satellite messenger from the island, to
our public twitter account at twitter.com/k4r_EL84.

Our goal is to work anyone within ~7500km who needs EL84 on satellites.
Check out the pass listing link at the above web pages and let us know if
you have a special sked request from the outer reaches of our range,
especially in EU and South America!

73, and hope to hear you in the air!

Here is briefly how I do it,

Recieve on the A band
Transmit on the B band

Store the downlink frequencies with a name like AO-91 A
Store the uplink like AO-91 B

In the Memory mode, I transfer the frequency to VFO mode with F (press the
Function key)- VFO (press VFO key) on the 70cm frew so that I can adjust for
doppler.

Patrick WD9EWK posted some info here:
https://forums.qrz.com/index.php?threads/configuring-my-th-d72a-for-satellites
.580191/

" I have some files, including an MC4 file with a copy of a configuration
from my TH-D72A, along with some other information on using this radio on
satellites (voice and packet). You can go to http://dropbox.wd9ewk.net/ and
look in the TH-D72A folder for those files. "

Greetings,

Does anyone have (or know where one is available on the web) an working
importable memory file for FM satellites for a TH-D72a, using either the

I'm finding conflicting sources of information on various satellites.

Thanks in advance,

I thought I had found the problem with my old 5400 EL rotor when I
discovered shorted wires at the terminal due to those awful old screw type
terminals. Unfortunately after installing it the summer QTH I found that EL
rotation worked only in one direction. I could use some help trouble
shooting this as it could be in the control box or at the rotor and I have
no manual with me. It could be that I'm off the air this summer in terms of
satellite operation.

Thanks so much to everyone for the links, manuals and info. I'm going to
look at it again with fresh eyes tomorrow on the bench with a short piece
of cable. Visual inspection of the inside of the control box doesn't show
anything suspicious.

I'll report back tomorrow if I can get this old dog going again.
