Hi Butch.

Looks very nice. Possibly a bit early to assess but I'm sure someone will
reproduce it fairy shortly.

However, how refreshing to finally see someone treating ITAR with the
contempt it deserves. Space engineering published !!
Hang on......I can hear the sirens arriving at Planet....

Remember to attend this year's AMSAT-NA Symposium!

(Hint: Look at last year's published Symposium proceedings. I hear that
there is an interesting paper on a system using the AX5043, rather than
the CC1100.)

Hi all

Another ham and I are tentatively planning activities - which may include a
forum, and/or FM sat demos, and/or an AMSAT info table - at the Shelby
Hamfest.

So I'm putting out a call for other sat ops who might be attending Shelby
and want to help out, by doing demos and/or manning a table. It depends on
the level of interest of those attending/participating as to what might
take place. (I certainly don't want to man an info table at that size
hamfest all day by myself, so I hardly expect anyone else to either :-) .)

So email me, and I'll start an email chain for those interested in
participating, and we'll see what kind of activities we can reasonably do
at Shelby to get the word out about the wonderful world of working the
"birds" and AMSAT!

The satellite was launched 10th August 2015 so it will be 3 year old.

The Sputnix site has some information for radio amateurs concerning the
SiriusSat-1/SiriusSat-2 satellites scheduled for release from the ISS on 15
August 2018. The following is my translation of part of the following
Russian language URLs (Copyright ? 2013-2018, SPUTNIX):

http://sputnix.ru/ru/nashi-sputniki/siriussat-2

Information for Radio Amateurs

We invite all radio amateurs to take part in reception of our signals. We
have prepared a decoder program which will allow you to decode practically
all types of data which will be transmitted from the satellites, in the
first place the beacons, and also a connection to the central telemetry
database db.satnogs.org and the transmission of received packets to us and
all radio amateurs (this option can be turned off).

The satellites will work on these frequencies with the following call signs:

SiriusSat-1 Call sign RS13S Frequency 435.570 MHz

SiriusSat-2 Call sign RS14S Frequency 435.670 MHz

GMSK 4800 modulation will be used, AX.25 G3RUH standard protocol.

SPUTNIX Telemetry Viewer can be used with standard amateur radio software
typically used for satellite reception, for example, with the combination of
Orbitron/SDRSharp and with UZ7HO's SoundModem.

Telemetry Viewer is connected with the help of AGWPE or KISS TCP interfaces.
User settings are accessible in the file resources/config.xml.

Thanks a million for that info, Todd!

The test IQ file played back in HDSDR just fine and produced packets that
decoded cleanly in the UZ7HO hs_soundmodem. Their telemetry viewer seemed
to work well also.
