Hi folks,

please I need an help.

I own the ERC-M KIT that I use to track the rotators.

Unfortunately it does not have a switch to switch in ON and OFF and also

A LED to see when it is on the ON or on the OFF position.

I would like to add them but do not how to do as the Power connector

is soldered on the printed circuit.

Anybody please can point me how to solder the switch and the LED

And where to solder them?

Also do I need a resistor?

If yes which value and where to put it?

Thanks for the help.

Hi Vincenzo,

You'll probably have better luck (and indeed a more accurate response) if
you contact the ERC mailing list, as the designer himself is on that group
and answers questions very quickly.

The list e-mail address is "Easy_Rotor_Control@???????????.???? so you
should be able to find the actual list by searching for that on Yahoo's
groups site.

I tried both data.funcube.org.uk and data.amsat-uk.org in the Nayif-1
dashboard for the EO-88 pass at ~1520Z in range of Chicago. Both resulted in
the error message in the upload counter at the bottom of the dashboard.

Try to enjoy your trip! (The satellite will still be there when you get back!)

Guys,?
New to Macs, new to the ICOM 910H and new to auto Doppler control. So this
should be fun...
I have the Doppler correction working. Both the up and the down go the way
they should. The software is communicating with the radio, and everything is
wonderful, but I can't for the life of me see how to move to another spot on
the passband.
I move the radio dial and it goes right back to the middle of the passband.
When I try to adjust the frequency in the software, nothing moves, I'm
stumped here.
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks.

Good for you!

Getting the radio connected is half of the battle.

If I remember correctly, it only works for USB/LSB not FM and you have to
uncheck the VFO's locked button.

Try it and let me know,

Stefan

Hi!

I will be working SSB, FM, and ISS passes from Mountain
Vista Park, a Phoenix city park along the I-10 freeway
north of Ray Road in grid DM43ah, for an impromptu
AMSAT satellite demonstration later today. I should be
on passes starting after 2300 UTC (4pm PDT/7pm EDT) today,
for 2 to possibly 3 hours. There are a few SSB satellites,
along with AO-85 in FM and the ISS with its 145.825 MHz
packet digipeater, passing by in that timeframe. I will
be on the air using my call sign WD9EWK. If you see or
hear me on those passes, please call WD9EWK (or send an
APRS message via 145.825 MHz).

I will upload my contacts from this demonstration to
Logbook of the World either tonight or tomorrow. If anyone
who works WD9EWK would like to receive a QSL card, please
e-mail me directly with the QSO details. There's no need
to first send me a QSL card and/or an SASE to get my card.

Thanks, and 73!

Hi Paul and Stefan,

I also use MacDoppler. I've used it on a friend's 910 and 9100 and mostly
on my TS-2000. Glad you got the connection to the radio working--that was
my challenge!

In any case, for a linear satellite, you first want to unlock the VFO on
the "Radio" screen (bottom right with the 'radio' tab selected) and tweak
the Tx on the MacDoppler screen. till you can hear yourself. A
clicker/chirper can help with this, but just your voice also works. Now
lock the VFO. One some radios you can now use the tuning knob on your
radio, but on the 910 and the 9100 that does not work. You have to adjust
where you want to be in the passband on the MacDoppler screen. The easiest
way to do that is with the slider at the bottom of the radio panel. You
pull it to the right to move one way in frequency. To the left to move the
other way. It's a bit different than you might expect--each "pull" on the
slider moves the frequencies only a bit. You have to pull it and release
it repeatedly to move very far. Of course this allows you to tune more
finely. It's kind of nice when you get used to it.

You can also tweak the frequencies on FM birds, but of course there is no
reason you want to have the Rx and Tx locked together when you do that.
And another hint: To go back to the original settings, there is a little
white rectangle to the left side of those radio adjustments on the screen.
Click on it and it all returns to the original values.

And BTW, don't necessarily trust all the frequencies for the satellites
that come by default with MacDoppler. One of my friends had to change some
of them, some by a bit, some by a lot.

Good luck!

73,

Burns WB1FJ
