Hello,

This is Skyler KD?WHB here, I have ran the Colorado Amsat net for about a
year. When connected to the East coast reflector, I get quite a few
check-ins, but dont' do anything with them, they just sit there. Last
night, I was not connected to the East coast reflector, because its AllStar
bridge was down, but here is the list of check-ins for 2/12.

If anybody wants to join the net, feel free to, we are on IRLP, AllStar,
and EchoLink (not recommended). The details on the time and how to connect
is at the website *AMSATNET.INFO <http://AMSATNET.INFO> * on the home page

Hi Graham,

I am running NfW within 8.1 Pro with no problems. I don't use any
compatibility settings and just run the executable as administrator within
NFW32 Properties. Using version 2.2c

Sometimes a clean install will do the trick (again).

Good morning,

Early this morning, I worked FJ/N2IEN on Saint Barth?lemy on SO-50.
This is a relatively new DXCC, only existing since 2007 (it was part
of FS prior).

This may be the first satellite operation from that DXCC entity. The
group will be there until Tuesday.

That's odd, I worked N5AFV/FJ in Dec 2005 on AO-51 when Al stopped there on
a cruise. I know he worked a bunch of people when he was there. I never
researched the FJ, but I feel I missed sat DXCC when AO-40 failed. I'm up
to 82 confirmed via sat but don't think I ever going to get close to 100 so
I don't pay much attention. I also have it on 20m in 2008.

I know I probably won't get DXCC unless we get a HEO, but I'm
actively pursuing the OSCAR Century Award. I'm at 87 worked now and still
need 5 Canadian call areas (the 3 territories plus Nova Scotia and PEI).
All have been worked with 5 watts from my portable dual FT-817 setup (or an
Icom IC-R10 receiver I used before getting the second FT-817) and an Arrow
or Elk antenna. I'd really like to get all 100 QRP but I do have a 30w 2m
amp I recently acquired if I need it for a low FO-29 pass or a crowded
SO-50 pass. I'll probably add a 70cm amp at some point too if I run across
a good deal for low AO-7 passes.

I know. I guess I didn't make that clear enough. I saw it in my log
thinking it counted for a DX entity when it really didn't. I heard they were
going to be there but thought I had it worked. Paul's post led me to check
on it and then I realized my logging s/w was smarter then me, as it wasn't
giving me credit for it. So when I work them and get credit for the QSO
along with K1N I will have 84. Life is good :-)

David, I've managed to make that work pretty well.

Another question: in HRD, how do you set the grid locator when there are
multiple grids? HRD as it is now doesn't have enough room in the Locator
field to store an entry like "CM79,CM89,CN70,CN80".

How do you handle that? Thanks in advance!

Subject: [amsat-bb] Ham Radio Deluxe, Satellite QSOs, and ARRL LotW

Question:

Who here uses Ham Radio Deluxe to log Satellite QSOs and then uploads them
to ARRL LotW?

I'm not having the best success at making it work.

Any pointers are much appreciated.

Hi Graham,

I am running NfW within 8.1 Pro with no problems. I don't use any
compatibility settings and just run the executable as administrator within
NFW32 Properties. Using version 2.2c

Sometimes a clean install will do the trick (again).

  Hi All,

As a user of the Nova programme for many years I have hit a problem when
it is running on a W8.1 machine.

Although, when you have selected XP compatibility mode it installs and
works ok, after some time it refuses to read the map files and says that
they are not present. It still runs the predictions and antenna drivers fine
but no map!

All suggestions about how to fix this annoyance will be gratefully received.

  thanks and 73
