Hi,

My apologies that between 16:00 UTC on the 20th and 0730 on the 21st the FC
warehouse was not collecting data.

It was in fact being routed to the new warehouse, my ruse to 'copy' it
failed :-(

Normal service is resumed.

Hi,

We have changed the IP address to which http://data.amsat-uk.org is
associated.

Once you see the new page, click on the link below the satellite Image.

It will take up to 24 hours for this to propagate, once done you will see
the new web site.

All Nayif data is already being pointed to this new IP address.

Only Realtime is being displayed at the moment. We are working on the other
pages
(WOD,FItter/HighRes) as part of the parallel JY1Sat & ESEO
developments.(Scores will be
updated to account for the values on the old server)

FUNcube-1 data/warehouse will remain at it's current URL for some time as we
take
daily feeds for analysis.

Many thanks for all your patience and support!

I am going to build an Az/El rotator, but that will take a while. In the
meantime, I'm wondering whether I could control an unused TV rotator
(Channel Master 9521) with the SatPC32 as an Az only rotator for my single
Arrow antenna. Any suggestions?

 Hi John (KG4AKV),

Sorry I'm late, about your note "doesn't have a way to verify it is
accurate" - try this?

WinAOS is a part of SatPC32 Suite,
launch WinAOS,
(if this is your first time, click CANCEL few times and click Setup and set
your grid, etc? and restart it)
then click Lists, and make sure ISS is selected, click OK,
in the next popup select any start date, time and period
you should get the passes you want to see.?
Works for past, present and future passes.

BTW, I watched your AWESOME YouTube video.
... there is nothing like talking to ISS in space, I know because I couldn't
sit down after I did the same few years ago.?

Best,
Umeshk6vug

Ron,

Sure give it a try. Mount the Arrow at 30 deg elevation and you should be
good to go. The only dwon side is the same downside of solid mounting an
Arrow on anything. with a handheld Arrow you will always see people
rotating it around the axis of the boom for maximum signal strength on
receive The on transmit they will rotate their hand to get the transmit
elements in about the same plane as the recieve elements were for mx
signal. So you will loose a bit of signal. If you already have the TV
rotator, give it a go. The other thing to watch is your feedline.
Depending on length you might want to consider at least LMR 400. If it is
long given the feedline losses at 432 MHz, LMR 600 if you can find it
cheaply enough is even better.

Hope that helps,

John

I will be in Hawaii December 3 - 14 and will on two islands, Oahu and Maui.
? I hope to rove? BL01, BL10 and BL11. ?? The Hawaiian Islands appear to
have ten (10) different grids and I hope I could work all of them. ? ?? I
can only work FM satellites AO91 and AO92. ?? I will also listen for
Lilisat-2 but haven't any success in my home Grids of CN87.
And some of you in Hawaii might let me know if you have worked the mainland
CN87 from Bellows AFS or the Pali Lookout or another spot on Oahu.

International Space Station Astronauts are Calling CQ ARISS Students

??? ARISS-US program?s education proposal window open Oct. 1 - Nov. 30, 2018

?

September 25, 2018:? ARISS is seeking proposals beginning October 1, 2018
from US schools, museums, science centers and community youth organizations
(working individually or together) to host amateur radio contacts with an
orbiting crew member aboard the International Space Station (ISS) between
July 1 and December 30, 2019.

?

Each year, ARISS provides tens of thousands of students with learning
opportunities about space technologies, communications, and much more
through the exploration of Amateur Radio and space. ARISS has been pleased
of late, to be one of many possibilities of interest to educators during
NASA?s A Year of Education on Station, which celebrates an almost 12-month
presence of a teacher aboard the ISS.? The ARISS program connects students
to astronauts on the ISS through a partnership between NASA, the Radio
Amateur Satellite Corporation, the American Radio Relay League, other
Amateur Radio global organizations and the worldwide space agencies. The
program?s goal is to inspire students to pursue interests and careers in
science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) and in Amateur Radio.

?

Educators report regularly that student participation in the ARISS program
stimulates interest in STEM subjects and STEM careers. One educator wrote,
?Many of the middle school students who took part in and attended the ARISS
contact have selected science courses in high school as a result of that
contact.?? Educators are setting up ham radio clubs in schools and learning
centers because of students? interest.

?

ARISS is looking for organizations that will draw large numbers of
participants and integrate the contact into a well-developed, exciting
education plan. Students can learn about satellite communications, wireless
technology, science research conducted on the ISS, radio science, and other
STEM subjects. Students learn to use Amateur Radio to talk directly to an
astronaut and ask their STEM-related questions. ARISS will help educational
organizations locate Amateur Radio groups who can assist with equipment for
a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for students.

?

The proposal window opens October 1, 2018 and the proposal deadline is
November 30, 2018.

For proposal guidelines and forms and more details, visit:
http://www.ariss.org/hosting-an-ariss-contact-in-the-us.html

?

Proposal webinars for guidance and getting questions answered will be
offered October 11 and October 23, 2018, both at 8 pm Eastern Time. Advance
registration is necessary. To sign up, go to:

participants and integrate the contact into a well-developed, exciting
education plan.
