In the New-TLE element set use 2018-099A works for Fox-1C. I have not tried
to track JY1Sat yet but give it a try. When capturing Fox-1C telemetry last
night thought I saw some FUNcube data signature on the waterfall.

Bob Bruninga reminded me that I was confusing the solution to two
different problems.? The squelch needs to be off in APRS and Packet
modes in order for transmit (not receive) to function properly.? Battery
Saver mode should be off, otherwise APRS packet decoding is likely to
suffer, and there are several mentions in the Kenwood documentation
about this.

Sorry for the mistake.

I've been using the TLE for objet 43760, 2018-099C. It was in the middle of
one group, agrees well with the post-launch TLE, and tracked Fox1Cliff very
nicely during this morning's pass.

Heard "Fox 1 Cliff Safemode" very strong (S9+20) on an overhead pass here in
CM98. 18:45Z and again at 18:47Z and 18:49Z a minute before predicted LOS.
I was using the elements from 2018-099A. Frequency seemed a tad high (maybe
a khz) for where gPredict said the satellite was, so either a small offset
in the actual frequency, or the satellite was a bit behind predicted.

All,

Separations between the objects from the SSO-A launch are remarkably
small, some no more than 1 or 2 s. And not all TLE sets have been
published yet. So identifying objects is hard for the time being. But for
tracking purposes I have some suggestions.

For JY1Sat use object 43759, for ITASat 1 use object 43760, for Fox 1Cliff
use object 43767 and for Move 2 use object 43761. These should work well
for now. But note that these assignments may change later on.

You said off [open] but I think you meant on [closed].

You can have the squelch off/open and still TX if you disable DCD sense
(Data Carrier Detect sense). This allows for standard satellite/weak signal
practice (never use squelch).

The downsides with disabling DCD sense are that it will allow you to TX
while the digipeater is TXing so you'll miss decodes.

DCD sense could also avoid a situation where two locals are TXing at the
same time. If you can hear someone else TXing DCD sense will not allow you
to beacon/TX at that moment, so that could reduce congestion on the channel.

Another suggestion: for ESEO use object 43763.

AMSAT News Service Special Bulletin 339.01
 From AMSAT HQ KENSINGTON, MD
DATE December 5, 2018
To All RADIO AMATEURS
BID: $ANS-339.01

On December 3rd, 2018, Fox-1Cliff was launched on a Falcon 9
vehicle from Vandenberg Air Force Base in California. Part
of Spaceflight?s SSO-A: Smallsat Express launch, Fox-1Cliff
was named after long time AMSAT supporter Cliff Buttschardt,
K7RR (SK). In the 48 hours after launch, more than 110
amateur radio operators around the world have successfully
received and submitted telemetry from the satellite.

Following in our long tradition of naming amateur satellites,
AMSAT hereby designates Fox-1Cliff as AMSAT-OSCAR 95 (AO-95).

Thank you to those who have supported this mission with their
time, talent, and financial support for the benefit of amateur
radio operators worldwide.

We know that it crashes if you select one of the records at the bottom when
there is no hi/low telemetry, which would have been the case during reset 0.

Ok I have Display UTC Time checked at the bottom of the satellite tab.
Would that cause FoxTelm to crash? I have not experienced any further
FoxTelm crashes since the day of the launch.

I copied Fox1 last night on two consecutive passes (in JO02jn) and I could
see the signature two spikes come and go that looked like FUNCube data as
well. I was using the TLE set loaded by MacDoppler from AMSAT.
Didn't want to break the pass to chase it to see what it was but none of the
existing FunCube payload carriers were showing on the tracking software.

So Ashhar bird is called Fox-1Cliff correct?

Can it be tracked in Orbitron? I suppose we need keplar data of the bird.
The program has a file for cubesats but I don?t see the bird. I see other

Right now it is in the NASA Bare set under Fox-1Cliff soon show up as AO-95
I am sure.? It is also one of the 2018-099 objects in the New Tle elements
set.? If you have not added the NASA Bare set to Orbitron here is the URL.?
It is nice since it has all the standard names of the satellites.? One of
the few sets that has AO-85 as well.
