Hi Bob,

I have done that successfully with both an SDRPlay RSP2 and a FunCube Pro +.
Here is what I learned:
You must run those FM rx with squelch on. In other words, set up each SDRC
rx with FM Squelch , Narrow Filters (12 kHz is fine).

When I tried to run them unsquelched I got no decodes. Once squelched, all
decode fine if freq is clear (lots of junk on the downlink band from
computer stuff)

I copied my first telemetry from FunCube 1 back in 2016 and copied it for
several months, on and off. Then I got interested in other things and didn't
copy it for a while. Now I am back and have an anomaly that I would like to
have some advice on.

For the last few months I have not been very successful in copying
telemetry. I seem to be getting good signals with a M2 2MCP22 controlled in
AZ and EL. I use an Icom IC-910H for the receiver. I could not get dashboard
to reliably auto tune. I use HRD Satellite to tune the rig for doppler set
to 145.935. If I set the rig to USB, I don't copy anything. So just playing
around I tried CW and can hear the data but still not copy. Then I tried
adjusting the RIT and I stated copying. I only adjusted the RIT -0.65.

Should I go back to USB and adjust the frequency to find the signal?

Has the satellite changed from 145.935 or is it something here?

Thanks for your input!

Hi All,

New TLEs have been released by CSpOC, and currently we are looking at
object 2018-099AV / 43801 for JY1Sat.
Very close are also objects AX and AY, but the coming passes will show
which one may produce a good fit.

*note* the objects have not yet been assigned, so AV is still our best
estimate. More observations are needed to confirm or amend.

I'm just waiting for a pass when AO-85 is illuminated and I'm home, to put
her back in transponder mode. There will be some requests for operators,
mainly to not use it in eclipse. More soon.

I had no problem replicating the Fox in a Box. My 3B+ runs around 70% CPU
when decoding white noise. I am having trouble receiving the satellites
because of the Spike in the center of the passband as well as images to the
side. Is there anyway to compensate for the offset voltage in LINUX that
will run on the P! 3B+? Programs like HDSDR allow you to do the correction
within the program but I cannot find where to do it in Fox Telem. There is
a Funcube control program for Windows but I have not found one for the PI.
According to the Fauncube site, alignment is required every time you loose
power to the PI.

Also, I presume that the internet interface for the leader board is not
supported? When I click on leaderboard, I get a message that it is not
supported but when I acknowledge the pop up, the web brouser launches. It
does not seem to have this problem when sending or receiving data to the
server. Is this normal.

I you would like to call me, my number is 847-514-8566. Thank you for all
of the work you put into the Fox in a Box. If I can fix the DC offset
problems, I plan to deploy one to Denver, CO and another to McAllen TX.

Sorry for the dumb question but how do I turn on the squelch in Fox Telem?
I would need to do this both on Windows and Linux (PI 3B+).

Doug, Do you mean you are using a FunCube Dongle or something and having
FoxTelem decode the RF (as opposed to feeding it audio). You can turn off
the audio entirely by clicking on tab on the input section (just above the
audio/FFT display) that says "Silence Audio". If that tab says "Monitor
Audio" then it is already turned off. You can also monitor the audio and
have it squelch when there is no telemetry being decoded using a checkbox
on the side (Squelch when no telemetry" or something like that). If you
mean to use this to listen to QSOs, remember that while you might be able
to hear them sometimes, the ear is incredibly sensitive, so you might be
squelching something you could actually hear and understand.
