Service will resume once we work out why we have run out of inodes.
Telemetry will queue upstream and be sent once the server is up again.

Happy Holidays all,

Too many small files? This is usually determined at filesystem creation
time, and it is a tradeoff to optimize space consumed by metadata.

Last night AO-92 L/v downlink seemed at times unusually noisy and distorted
with rapid fading. Other I talked to on other sats and one ham in ZL land
also mentioned it. I have not noticed this on AO-92 U/v, at least to this
extent. My imagination or fact?

Are you using SSB mode for 1k2 BPSK?

Hi Ron,

The downlink is the same radio as the U/v, so from that perspective
there is no particular reason that the L/v transmit signal would be
different.
The L/v uplink passes through a downconverter with an output of the same
U frequency as the U/v uplink, directly into the receiver.
If there was any distortion to the L/v signal it would likely occur in
the downconverter path, but I haven't heard any other reports of problems.
The first thing that comes to mind for rapid fading is satellite spin, I
do not have any telemetry in front of me but if you check that out on
FoxTelem or the website to see if it is spinning faster than last week,
that might be a contributor.
Noise then, if the satellite downconverter is working correctly, is
probably on the uplink signals and may be greater than normal with the
rapid fading.

Hi Andy,

Es'hail-2 / P4-A? is still in? IOT testing and not open for general use.

There has been a lot of testing yesterday (but also on other days
before) of the NB and WB transponder.

no, P4A is not open and should not be used.
There are tests on the two WB / NB transponders but no uplink is authorized.

I have been wondering how well Icom's remote software will play with typical
satellite tracking-tuning software?. I have asked some IC-9100 folks, but
have not found someone using both. Perhaps someone here will have experience.

Alan,

You can't run the Icom remote software and SatPC32 together on the 9100
because they fight for the same ports.
