Jerry,
?? Comparing the 9700 to my 9100 I also noticed that it was much more
prone to desense, it was not as bad here as what you are seeing but it
was there, same antennas here BTW.
The desense with the lack of 9600 packet support made it easy for me to
go back to my 9100 and sell the 9700. Had I kept it my next plan was to
put a diplexer in line on the 70cm side with a 50 ohm load on the 2m
port, this would probably be your best option and putting it before an
external preamp would also be best if you are using one.

I operated the 1822 pass yesterday (6 May) and worked two stations, AA2HJ
and K9QHO, on CW with about? 100 W eirp.? Signals were almost as strong as
FO-29 used to be and the apogee is about the same as AO-7.? A? good DX
macine for those of us out of range of QO-100.

I have to say I'm not getting desense with my IC-9700, unless I'm using
more power than is needed or should be using on the SSB Sats.

Maybe try to lower your power? RS-44 can easily be worked at around 2% (2w)
power and I work SO-50 at 0-3% every time (500mw-3w)

?FWIW- If you are going to admonish someone for ?poor behavior on an FM
satellite, it is probably not the best idea to do it during the pass. Done
that way, the admonishment becomes as bad as the original QRM.

Peter,

You can set DDE output in SatPC32 and also use a DDE client like the one
from Green Heron called GH Tracker or what I do is run PSTrotator which
supports the Green Heron for rotor control and run SatPC32 for radio
control. Just be aware if you use DDE output you will lose the ability to
park antennas after a pass and also the ability to have antennas start
before a pass.

I was on that pass and heard the intentional QRM. While the intentional QRM
is despicable, I think his intention was to point out something I don't
really understand since getting active on sats again - which is why the
same guys keep working each other on every FM satellite pass. There is
limited bandwidth and potentially a lot of new users who don't get a chance
to make contacts. I can understand working your buddies on the linear sats,
but why can't folks be considerate and generally only work new stations or
grids?

Got it. Thanks for that. So, how do you load in the satellites you want it
to track and provide next pass time/date?I see I managed somehow to get one
satellite into that window but I don't know how I did it?Is their a decent
manual someplace?Peter
