Yes there are hundreds and thousands of 70 cm repeaters that are coordinated
in the northeast US. They are all supposed to be in the proper FM voice
range of 440 through 448. The issue here is with what is probably an
uncoordinated private repeater with an input, but most likely an output
wrongly put in the satellites sub-band on 70 cm. It is well within our
rights to attempt to locate the source of this interference and in proper
amateur radio style, attempt to convince the owner to move. That is what the
volunteer monitoring program run by ARRL is all about, to find interference
and help eliminate it. So it doesn?t have to go to the FCC. Their
operation is not illegal but it is out of band plan.

AMSAT volunteers should reach out to the coordinating groups in all of the
north eastern states and bring the situation to their attention. There
should also be contact made to the ARRL MONITORING group to make them aware
of the problem as well. The more ears listening on these frequencies, the
more chance it will be found by somebody on the ground.

Newbie getting into sats. Initially I have 5el 2m & 5el 440 for rooftop
mount with
only azimuth rotation and fixed elevation. Recommended polarization for
each band?

Eventually will get el/az rotator and circular polarization/switching but
thats a ways off.'

Have other 2m and 440 beams but cannot find good article on phasing lines
for discreet antennas to achieve circular polarization

DTUSat-2 at 2401.835 MHz. Object 40030. Sends out CW beacon every 30
seconds. No battery power so operates only in sunlight. Daylight passes are
normally from 11:00 to 13:00 every day. Beacon can be a missing,
intermittent, full or partial CW message. It has a good signal on 2.4 GHz.
As Doppler is extreme, it's best viewed on a SDR waterfall. A picture of
DTUSat-2's waterfall signal is on my QRZ page. It's a good signal to test
your 2.4 GHz setup and tracking.

Most satellites on 2.4 GHz only turn on and down link their data when over
the command station. You must be in command station's foot print to hear the
signal.

Hi Roger,
that will happen if one of the selected satellites is constantly or
never audible at your location (no AOS/LOS times), ? e.g. a
geostationary satellite or a satellite that never rises at your location
due to low inclination. Remove that satellite from the 'selected' list
of the group.

I make a new location in TSQL for each place that I operate. Typically I
only use 4 character grid squares, but you could do more if you wanted to.
Then you pick that location when uploading the contacts. If you have
multiple locations within a single log, you will need to break them up
before uploading, unless they are on different days that could be used to
filter them during upload m

In TQSL use the Station locations tab to creat a new location. Frill in the
appropriate fields and save it with a name that makes it easy to understand
where it is for.

In the TQSL app (which signs the request), you select Create a new Station
Location under the Station Locations tab. Then when you sign the
ADIF/Cabrillo file with a cert you are giventhe chance to select the
location. Depending upon what logging software you use, parts of this might
be automated. For example, DXKeeper automates much of that QTH selection
process but you still need the station location in TQSL.

I did it another way.
Two of us just roved in 7QP for HF and I had the all the QSO's grouped into
stats/counties and grid locations (4 characters.?? 2 states, 18 counties, &
7 grids?????? I only changed the station location information of my current
certificate combination for each group of QSO's.??? I sent them in to
LoTW.?? and repeated the changes for the next group.

For me that was easier and less confusing of having multiple same callsigns
in my TQSL and this was a once a year event.???? It appeared that if you
stay in "your" county, the Station Location can be manipulated however you
want.????? Just remember to restore it for you QTH.
For the Canadian Parks and ARRL HPM 150 events I got a different
certificates for N7AME/VE7 and N7AME/150.

That would work for a one time thing. If you go into LOTW and click on your
QSO that you submitted this way, does the proper grid show up on your
station info?

It all depends upon how you do logging as some programs make it more
automated than others. I have club callsigns, 10 locations, my own callsign,
special event calls and even DX callsigns KP4/NY4I in TQSL so one more
location isn?t an issue. Thank heavens DXKeeper keeps that all straight for
me.

Good luck,
