December4, 2020?Amateur Radio on the International Space Station (ARISS) has
received scheduleconfirmation for an ARISS radio contact with astronauts.
ARISS is the groupthat puts together special amateur radio contacts between
students around theglobe and crew members with ham radio licenses on the
International Space Station (ISS).
?
This will be a direct contact via amateur radio between students at the
AthloneCommunity College, Athlone, Ireland and astronaut Shannon Walker,
amateur radiocall sign KD5DXB. Amateur radio station EI1ISS will be the
ground station forthis contact. About800 people will be onsite for the
event. Students will take turns asking Walker questions and Englishis the
language expected to be used during the contact. The downlink frequency for
this contact is145.800 MHz.??

The ARISS radio contact isscheduled for December 7, 2020 at 2:50 pm GMT
(Athlone), (14:50 UTC, 9:50 am EST,8:50 am CST, 7:50 am MST and 6:50 am

AthloneCommunity College has 1,200 students, ages 12 to 18, from a diverse
range ofbackgrounds, and from both rural and urban areas. Mathematics,
science and engineeringsubjects occupy a special place in the school
curriculum for both the junior and senior levels, and studentshave enjoyed
studying the ISS and space. In preparation for the ARISS contact,teachers
have conducted lessons that involve science and physics studies.

Hi Frank,
Sorry for the difficulties here. Programs should prevent these sorts of
issues. So let's see if we can work out what is causing the problem and
fix it.
In version 1.07 and version 1.08 some of the settings were stored in the
install folder. Specifically settings tied to each spacecraft such as the
downlink frequency. If you changed that value in the GUI then it saved the
new value back into the install folder. That appears to be working fine
for you.
In 1.08 and 1.09 no settings are saved in the install folder. Instead they
are saved into your data folder along with the telemetry that you download.
This is the "user properties file" that it can not save. Why it can't save
it is a good question.
So I need to know where you have saved the telemetry. This is the folder
that is listed on File > Settings and is called the Log files directory.
If 1.09 won't start then run 1.07 and let us know what that points to,
unless you do something at each install to move the data around. We can
then help you get this fixed and working.

For the third evening, AO-91 satellite flipped to Safe Mode during the 10 PM
(15 UTC) pass over Indonesia, before reaching TCA.
Reading the telemetry, battery voltages are ok. Anything else that tripped
the sat into Safe Mode?

Thanks for this information. One the battery voltage gets down to about
3.6V (think that's the value...), AO-91 will go automatically into safe
mode. The values of "MIN" in the telemetry logs will help to tell a more
complete picture. It's reporting as low as 3.31V now. So yes, it's
behaving as designed and engineered!

It?s auto safe mode from hitting minimum battery voltage. There?s not much
to be done about it unfortunately.

Chris,
Thank you for the reply. In both 1.07y and 1.08p the Log Files Directory
field is blank. 1.08z3 and 109n3 will not start because of the error.
