Hi Folks,

Please note that this weekend AO-73/FUNcube will NOT be switched to
permanent transponder mode. There have been several requests for it to
remain in auto eclipse mode to support various events associated with YOTA.
See http://www.ham-yota.eu/

So it will remain on the following schedule:

 - Full power beacon when in daylight
 - Low power beacon, plus transponder when in darkness

Have a great weekend

Hello all,

I am trying to receive TigriSat, First Iraqi satellite which have a FSK
Beacon on 435MHz frequency. I use a 2 unit array of cross Yagi antenna and
Kenwood TS2000 TRX.

The packet sounds quite good on TS2k whereas nothing is decoded on
OnlineKISS+ ver 8.2.2 by DK3WN. The COMM port is connected to the serial
port of TRX. The internal TNC of TS2000 was set to KISS mode. On air baud
rate 9k6 and COMM port baud rate to 9k6 as expected. The COMM port also
goes green on the software screen.

Have I miss any setting or is anything else required to decode the signals?

Rupesh Lad

Rupesh,

I suggest setup the TS 2000 TNC in AGWPE and OnlineKISS will connect to the
port in AGWPE to enable decode. Other way is to use a software
TNC?http://uz7.ho.ua/packetradio.htm?to which Online KISS will connect to
decode the data.

Through general consensus would it be possible to establish a unofficial "DX
watering hole". Time is the essential limiting factor when attempting DX
contacts on AO-7, or at times on FO-29. Elevating angles are usually less
than 4 degrees. My QTH (near Seattle, Wa. CN87) has a ever so small
opportunity to parts of N. Europe. Essentially, use a given frequency
(downlink) only when the satellite is less than 4-5 degrees. As I recall
there was such a concept on AO-40 (sobsob), it worked quite well. Your
thoughts.

AMSAT Fox-1C Launch Opportunity Announced

AMSAT is excited to announce a launch opportunity for the Fox-1C
Cubesat. AMSAT has teamed with Spaceflight Inc. for integration and
launch utilizing Spaceflight's SHERPA system to a sun-synchronous
orbit in the third quarter of 2015.

Fox-1C is the third of four Fox-1 series satellites under
development, with Fox-1A and RadFXsat/Fox-1B launching through the
NASA ELANA program. Fox-1C will carry an FM repeater system for
amateur radio for use by radio hams and listeners worldwide. Further
details on the satellite and launch will be made available as soon
as released.

AMSAT has an immediate need to raise funds to cover both the launch
contract and additional materials for construction and testing for
Fox-1C. We have set a fundraising goal of $125,000 dollars to cover
these expenses over the next 12 months, and allow us to continue to
keep amateur radio in space.

Donations may be made through the AMSAT webpage at www.amsat.org, by
calling (888) 322-6728 or by mail to the AMSAT office at 10605
Concord Street, Kensington, MD 20895, USA.

Please consider a recurring, club, or corporate donation to maximize
our chance of success with this mission. Also watch our website at
www.amsat.org,follow us on Twitter at "AMSAT", or on Facebook as
"The Radio Amateur Satellite Corporation" for continuing news and
opportunities for support. AMSAT is a 501(c)3 non-profit corporation
and donations may be tax-deductible.
