Stefan,

thanks for the feedback. I exchanged emails with Don earlier in the
project. There is no way to read the Az El information from MacDoppler
currently. I'm open to supporting it in the future if that feature becomes
available.

Noted that the transponder on XW-2E was not heard on the 1415Z pass over
western US. Its CW beacon was loud and clear.

The XW-2F transponder and beacon were also loud and clear, but no one was on
it but me.

Accessed both XW-2E and F during the 1550Z pass off the west coast USA. Both
sounded fine. No one else on the transponders.

There have been a couple of updates on the AMSAT-F Yahoo group.

The BPSK telemetry transmissions have been active, but the test
activation of the transponder in June damaged something and reduced
the power output of the main transceiver by 10 dB. The last reported
power output for the main transceiver that I saw was 0.4 mW, so it
would be a very weak signal.

They still hope to activate the FM transponder, but are investigating
what happened and still gathering data (slowly, given the extremely
weak signal) from the primary payload.

Paul, N8HM

All,

We had an unexplained menu explosion yesterday. Fortunately no one was
seriously injured by flying
bits of URLs. It is almost back to normal, but some items may move around a
bit over the next few
hours.

Sorry for any inconvenience.

Dear All,

I have been an original LVB Tracker for many years running firmware
0.7. Recently I am having some problems with the serial
communications and from the forums, I notice that firmware version 0.9
has resolved these issues.

However, the link published (many of which are few years ago) to
download this firmware at
http://www.g6lvb.com/Articles/LVBTracker/LVBTrack.hex seems to be no
longer valid.

I have been trying to look around but failed to obtain a copy of the
firmware version 0.9 .hex file. Would really appreciate any pointers
of where I could obtain this new firmware.

Thank you.

The Chinese new Long March 6 (CZ-6) launched 14 objects into orbit on
2015-09-19 at 23:01:14.331 UTC. Of the these 6 have been identified so far,
including the CZ-6 rocket body itself. (Thanks go to Nico Janssen, PA0DLO
and those emailing on AMSAT-BB for their much appreciated efforts.)

The satellites added are as follows:
Object A - NORAD CAT ID 40899
Object B - NORAD CAT ID 40900
Object C - NORAD CAT ID 40901
Object D - NORAD CAT ID 40902
XW-2A - NORAD CAT ID 40903 (Object E)
Object F - NORAD CAT ID 40904
XW-2F - NORAD CAT ID 40905 (Object G)
XW-2C - NORAD CAT ID 40906 (Object H)
Object J - NORAD CAT ID 40907
LILACSAT-2- NORAD CAT ID 40908 (Object K)
XW-2E - NORAD CAT ID 40909 (Object L)
Object M - NORAD CAT ID 40910
Object N - NORAD CAT ID 40911
Object P - NORAD CAT ID 40912
Note there are no OBJECT I or OBJECT O in the Spacetrack list. I assume,
because of the similarity between I and 1 and between O and 0 (zero).

The CZ-6 rocket body is NORAD CAT ID 40913 and has not been included in the
KEP distribution.

I was on the 21:44 Pass of XW-2F and heard W3UTD and just my own downlink
for the entire pass, transponder was solid.

I was there at the end. I started out on XW-2E and heard W3UTD, but he
didn't come back when I called him, so I continued to CQ. Near the end of
the pass, a weak signal called me, but I couldn't pull him out of the
noise. As 2F was still at 13 degrees, I asked him to QSY and went and CQed
on 2F for a couple of minutes until my LOS.

I'll be on the next pass, starting out on E and moving to F.

Paul, N8HM (and K3P)

I heard myself, and I heard you, but I couldn't tune you in. So I'm
wondering if I'm operating properly. I'm using SATPC32 and letting it
correct Doppler on both Uplink and Downlink. Is that correct?

Hi Glenn,

Thank you for the reply. ?Tried that hex file but unfortunately I got
firmware 0.5 instead (shown on the LCD screen).

Subject: [amsat-bb] LVB Tracker v0.9 Firmware

Thank you.
