Michael Kalter, W8CI

record straight about rumors of Hamvention moving to a new venue. Michael
will give us the official update regarding the recent rumors that have hit
the news outlets.

Additionally, Riley Hollingsworth, K4ZDH

Special Counsel to the FCC where he was in charge of the enforcement of our
spectrum. During Riley's segment, he will answer viewer questions that were
submitted regarding rules and regulations; and provide other information
regarding licensing and enforcement of our ham bands. Riley is a regular on
the show and will try to be with us every couple weeks.Send your questions
to AskRiley@xxxxx.xxx

or you may submit questions via our chat room or telephone lines.

After last week's discussion on stealth antennas, we received several great
videos from viewers demonstrating how they implemented working antennas in
situations as we discussed. We will view those videos Tuesday night.

Next week (October 13) Paul Ewing, N6PSE

member of many dxpeditions. He will share pictures and discuss past
dxpeditions.
Riley Hollingsworth, Joe Eisenberg, and Emmett Hohensee have joined the show
and will provide lots of new and great items for discussion. They will
alternate appearances as their schedules permit.

Amateur Radio Roundtable is a live weekly amateur radio webcast, held every
Tuesday night at 8 PM CDT (0100 UTC Wednesday) at W5KUB.com

radio operators and electronic hobbyists; including balloon launches,
satellite, go-kits, emergency communications, SDR, digital modes, DXing,
home brewing, hamfest updates, and more. Viewers will have the opportunity
to ask questions via the chat room or telephone.

Towards the end of each show, we provide a link and viewers who have a
camera, microphone, and a Google+ account, can join the show. Your video and
audio will be on the webcast. This part of the show is very informal and up
to 10 people can join. We talk about anything the viewers want to discuss.

I also want to share pictures of your ham shack. Send a picture of your ham

On the 14:45 utc pass of NO-84 I saw the FM transmitter turned on
continuously indicating someone was sending, but there was nothing on
the down link except the telemetry at 312 Hz. This went on for many
cycles of telemetry.

Was someone calling CQ or trying to answer my CQ?

If so, try moving your PSK31 signal lower in frequency, and don't forget
to update TLE's if you are using the DopplerPSK program.

Bob,

Sorry to hear you are having issues. Which version of Windows are you
running? This is tested on Windows 7, 8 and 10. No guarantees on versions
of Windows before that.

I don't recognize the error or the reference to VBrun. FoxTelem does not
use Visual Basic or the run time environment. It uses Java. Make sure
you have the latest version installed from java.com.

Hi all,
Many of us are using USB to RS232 adaptors, mainly for connecting the
station PC to transceivers CAT control, ROTOR controllers, and TNCs were
needed.

Although it seems that most, if not all, of the software programs work well
under Windows 10, and updated drivers can be downloaded for most of the
hardware, relatively old USB to RS232 adaptors might have chip sets that
are not supported anymore with drivers for above Windows 7 (i.e. Windows 8
and Windows 10).
There is a utility to check the chip set version provided by the vendor.
It is highly recommended to check before starting the upgrade :)

Jeff,
here Doppler correction and frequency tuning works flawlessly with FM
and SSB sats.
My setup:
SatPC32:
Radio 1 (FUNCube Dongle Pro +): TS-2000, COM 5, Baudrate 57600, CAT
delay 20
Radio 2: FT-817, COM 12 (USB-to-Serial), Baudrate 38400

HDSDR, menu Options:
CAT to HDSR (important, don't choose DDE to HDSDR ),
COM 6, Baudrate 57600
Item "activated" checked

COM 5 and 6 are linked virtual Ports, generated with VSP Mgr.

Frequency tuning of HDSDR and FT-817 by SatPC32 via the 5 controls or
the direction keys up/down and right/left works (SatPC32 must be the
active program - blue headerline)
Frequency via HDSRD works also, SatPC32 and the FT-817 follow.

You cannot QSY via the FT-817's VFO since it is the TX radio.

September 19 Multiple Amateur Radio Satellite Launch From China

Alan Kung, BA1DU, provided China AMSAT's (CAMSAT) frequency and mode
information for the September 19 launch of mulitple satellites on Beijing's
new Chang Zheng 6 (CZ-6) rocket from the Taiyuan Satellite Launch Center.

Estimated early Keplerian elements for a September 19 launch are:

XW-2(CAS-3)
1 99999U 15262.96885748 .00004985 00000-0 28395-3 0 00005

Launch time was planned for 23:00:00 UTC on 2015-09-18 with deployment of
the satellites at 23:15:14 UTC. Technical difficulties postponed the launch
until 23:00:00 UTC on 2015-09-19.

The ARRL posted a Word Doc with frequency information from BA1DU at:
http://www.arrl.org/files/media/News/XW-2CAS-3%20Sats.doc

The XW-2A through XW-2F satellites are using the same type of antenna. These
are quarter wavelength deployable monopole whip antennas and made of steel
tape, including a UHF uplink antenna and a VHF downlink antenna for each
satellite.

Hi Erich, I hope all is well with you, all is good here. Thank you!
I knew it had to be something stupid I was missing. I was using the DDE to
HDSDR because it lists SatPC32 there, as there is no available doc
explaining all this, and it seemed to work with the FM birds it had me
stumped. I switched to CAT to HDSDR and all is acting like you said. Thanks
again.....

Jeff,
here Doppler correction and frequency tuning works flawlessly with FM and
SSB sats.
My setup:
SatPC32:
Radio 1 (FUNCube Dongle Pro +): TS-2000, COM 5, Baudrate 57600, CAT delay
20 Radio 2: FT-817, COM 12 (USB-to-Serial), Baudrate 38400

HDSDR, menu Options:
CAT to HDSR (important, don't choose DDE to HDSDR ), COM 6, Baudrate 57600
Item "activated" checked

COM 5 and 6 are linked virtual Ports, generated with VSP Mgr.

Frequency tuning of HDSDR and FT-817 by SatPC32 via the 5 controls or the
direction keys up/down and right/left works (SatPC32 must be the active
program - blue headerline) Frequency via HDSRD works also, SatPC32 and the
FT-817 follow.

You cannot QSY via the FT-817's VFO since it is the TX radio.
