Bob,
here you can add the data of XW-2A ... XW-2F and LILICSAT 2 to
Doppler.SQF and AmsatNames.txt using "copy and paste".

Hi all,

I'm just getting started with sats and tried to connect to the mailbox
on the ISS this morning. I must have done the wrong thing because it
didn't go how I expected. I tried to make an ordinary connection to
RS0ISS-1 from VK7NTK-1 and RS0ISS-0 responded (I think to me?) with:

RS0ISS>CQ:Logged on to RS0ISS's Personal Message System<0x0d>
RS0ISS>CQ:on board the International Space Station<0x0d>

This suggests to me that even the mailbox is using some sort of unproto
system. I haven't seen any information anywhere about interacting with
the mailbox that way. Would anyone be able to send me a link to
up-to-date instructions, or explain what format it's expecting me to
send, to which SSID?

Many thanks,

Tom VK7NTK

A correction will need to be made to that file. It lists 437.225 as the
FM downlink for LilacSat-2. It should be 437.200. There is telemetry
on 437.225.

Hi Tom,

It is highly recommended NOT to connect to the ISS mailbox. Any connection
attempt if successful will block ISS digipeater operation for everyone
else. When the ISS packet system is active (digipeater) folks use it for
APRS purposes and exchange position information and/or short text messages.
Use of the mailbox is of no benefit since it does not contain anything of
value. You can find a lot of useful information by just googling "ISS APRS"
e.g.,

http://amsat-uk.org/beginners/how-to-work-the-iss-on-aprs-packet-radio/

Hope this helps and good luck,

Stefan, VE4NSA

I'm having the same issue with the MSCHRT20.ocx file missing or invalid or
whatever.
Can someone please point me to the fix or to another XW-2 telemetry decoder?
Thank you.

Hello,

Well, my CNCTRK is not based on Orbitron but does work with 12 VDC.
I'm still looking at a short run of units during the current quarter. See
the site below for current information. And, yes, a sturdy tripod workd
best.

Thanks for the advice! I'll forget about it for now. Sadly in the last
week the only packets I've received are beacons from PSAT and ARISS
themselves. I share most of my footprint with ocean and I'd be genuinely
pretty excited to see someone activate the mailbox. Oh well, it's time
to listen for Fox-1A anyway!

Cheers,

Good morning everyone! I am already going through info for today's launch
and came up with a couple of questions...

What is the order of exit from the P-POD for Fox-1a, BisonSat, and ARC1?

Is there any information available regarding the order in which the
individual P-PODs will be opened? Specifically, what number in line is
Fox-1A?

Well I was just sitting here and trying to figure out a convenient way
to be alerted when any of thee satellites I watch/work is in range. The
trouble is that I've already got [A] to [L] filled and still have Fox1
and several other recent birds to follow.

So what's a way I can have SatPC32 tell me when _ANY_ of those I track
is available _AND_ Auto-Move to tracking it?

thanks

Tom I can only answer #1, ARC1, BisonSat, then Fox-1 is the order coming out
of the P-POD.

If you ever get this figured out, then using your method and the LOTW you will
have somewhat reliable communication with confirmation just like the everyday
person with a cell phone .......
