Hi Michael,

Don't be too bummed out. Many experienced operators who have captured
telemetry in the past have run into problems. Not everything is
plug-n-play and that keeps the fun alive for many of us.

Keep trying. It took me a while to work out the bugs in decoding the
high speed telemetry via HDSDR/FUNcube Dongle Pro+/FoxTelem.

My Fox 1 Telemetry Analysis Tool is showing "Decoded: 8" and "Queued: 0" at
the bottom of the screen.

I have my station details complete and the box to "Upload to Server" is
checked.

Not seeing my call sign on the Leaderboard Statistics page, but I have no
idea how long to wait before I should expect some feedback from an upload
to be reflected on that page.

Is there some way to know when the Windows App has completed an upload
successfully?

I have logging enabled and see a line as follows:

=====
Trying Primary Server: tlm.amsat.org:41041
=====

... but no indication of a successful -or- failed upload. I do have an
active internet connection.

Many thanks.

Clayton,
Did you actually get FCD+ plus working with the telemetry program by itself?
If so what was your configuration?

During the last pass, which began locally around 0135 UTC, I could
barely hear my signal. It was well down in the background noise. The
maximum elevation was about 35 degrees and, for most of the time,
there were no obstructions which would block the downlink.

I was using 5 W into a dual-band Arrow yagi.

Things can change fast. More info sources are better than fewer. I've gotten
many good chunks of info on Twitter within 15 minutes of a pass, most
notably from portable operators activating a rare grid.

seems there was a lot more deep-fades. Made decoding a bit more
lengthily. Is she spinning? The "Eye" sometimes had a difficult time
holding the proper, what I believe is, proper form to make a decode.

A previous pass was the high-speed and got nothing off that with my Funcube

That "FOX-1A Computer RT Battery 12c "FAIL "" is that an issue up there?

This pass I fooled around with the Win-7 sound device settings for the
FCDP+ .. I thought I might be seeing some flat-topping on the Sample
view of the first tab. It was set at 100. I was able to get down around
15 and still decode. Left it about 90 .

For unattended operation, should I set "Find Signal" ? I have frequency
set to 145960 . track doppler (x) was Find Signal but I am not sure if
this is desirable.

W/O it, will program center on a 4 to 7 SNR peak all by itself?

Bernhard,

LilacSat-2's repeater was off during last pass. Only telemetry
on both downinks. A shame, as it was a nice western pass.

Hello, new poster to this list.

Using a handheld transceiver and a dual-band vertical on an outside mast, I
heard the AO-85 downlink starting at 11:15UTC Oct. 9 as it passed over the
Sea of Japan. Signals ranged from full quieting to QSB due to what I believe
to be the sat's motion in
space (rotating at about 10 rpm?).

Recording here:
https://soundcloud.com/minus2c/fox-1a-ao-85-fm-transponder-test-oct-9-2015

Keep up the excellent work. Can't wait to work the new bird.

In all the hoopla over all the new sats, it's easy to overlook Sean's timely
efforts to get these new sats into LOTW. In the past it took Patrick weeks
and months to get some action from the LOTW crew.

Now, thanks to Sean, it?s a matter of a few days or so...

Thank you Sean for your efforts !!!

Hi all-
A new version of the TQSL config file was just updated. AO-85 is now listed.
Update your LOTW config file and you should see it.

Hello Satellite Friends and Colleagues,

I'll be traveling in few weeks to some spots off the beaten path, and
wanted to give everyone a heads up on the tentative plans. On Wednesday,
October 21st I'll depart Little Rock, AR (EM34) for Wichita, KS (EM17)
via EM25, EM26 & EM16, likely stopping in several of the grids along the
way. After a night in Wichita I'll be heading west out in the great
wheat fields of western Kansas and eastern Colorado, which will include
grids EM08, EM07, DM98, DM97, DM88, and DM87... the last 4 of those
being pretty rarely heard. I'll likely be out there until Sunday the
25th, when I'll return to Wichita, and then back to Little Rock on the
26th.

Like most of my trips, this is multi-purpose business and personal, in
addition to working satellites, so I don't have precise times of which
passes I'll be on and where I'll be yet. I will be working any and all
linear and FM birds (including all the new ones) from all locations,
weather and time permitting, so be ready with your all-mode gear and
I'll try and get as many 'new-ones' handed out as I can.

If there is a large change my in plans, I'll post a new email, but as
always the absolute best way to get an idea of where I'll be and at what
time is to watch my Twitter account at https://twitter.com/KG5CCI

73!

-Dave, KG5CCI
