Lots of good info in your post, Jerry! Relative to transmitting continuously
in order to keep the transponder turned on, I have this suggestion: rather
then everyone transmitting continuously, we could take turns in order to
give our transmitters a break. For instance, if you see a long signal in the
waterfall you should assume that station is about to stop transmitting and
you should begin transmitting before he stops to keep the transponder turned
on. This even works with just two users on the bird. I have practiced this
and I am sure my transmitter thanks me for that since I must use 90W to be
solidly into the satellite. I am using just a Windom (wire) antenna, so no
EIRP gain.

DK3WN notes that PSAT is in full sun and should have enough power for the
next week to support both the PSK31 transponder and APRS digipeating. The
APRS digipeater supports the aliases of ARISS and APRSAT so the same
settings for ISS should work for PSAT.

At this writing, the digi is still off, but will be on as soon as one of
the command stations hits it.

For background: http://aprs.org/psat.html

To see if it has switched from PSAT-1 (no digi) to PSAT callsign see

Hi,

The LVB trackers are put together by some very dedicated volunteers who do
them as time permits.
There is normally a block ready for Dayton each year, with a few left over
for purchase on the AMSAT
Store afterwards. Also, every now and then a few will be available on the
AMSAT Store through the
year, so it doesn't hurt to check periodically.

Hi Scott,

Clever idea, will try !

If you want to get rid of paper predictions try http://amsat.org.ar/pass.htm

Will give you an easy & intuitive azimuth/elevation graphic and actual
doppler corrected frequencies while the bird passes.

Also will work offline internet at the field from your smartphone/tablet.

Good luck with your innovative setup !

Hi Alan,

Thanks for the update here, I saw in the latest Amsat magazine an ad with
ordering info & pricing info (donations) - is it possible to still order a
completed LVB Tracker via Amsat..?

Hi all,

I've completely switched to using the Alfa Spid rotors, which have internal
PC interfaces. I have two LVB trackers I would like to sell, except I can't
find one of them!

The one I did find is new in the wrapper. I did open the front of the
wrapping up to check if it was the green or blue display. I think it's the
blue one. I purchased this two or three Daytons ago as a spare and it has
resided in an equipment cabinet since then.

$200 shipped in the US only please. Paypal is fine. Email me if you'd like
it.

AMSAT WebMaster,???? Can you add a posting 'date' to ALL articles & SAT info
so we may judge how old/new this data/info is?
Even in the various pull-downs downs there is no indication of the last
update to this page allowing us to judge how good the information maybe.
Thanks
