Everybody is different as to there common mistakes, but I notice that
mine seems to always be that I put a decimal in the frequency when I
manually enter modifications with notepad. If you examine very closely I'll
bet find that you are making a very subtle change that is easily
overlooked. But I could be wrong after all I'm just an Amateur.

I'll second that, people should remember it's a test vehicle and doesn't
really represent a normal launch at all. The publicly stated goals has
actually always been to push it to the limits. Hence why one of the first
Grasshopper videos has Johny Cash "Ring of Fire" in the background (NOT
F9R-Dev1, today flight is a difference vehicle, Grasshopper did not fly
today).

It seems SpaceX weren't the only people to suffer problems this week.

The European launch of two Galileo satellites appeared to be nominal until
the final orbit was examined.

From the keps on Celestrack it looks as though the satellites which are
supposed to be in medium Earth orbit around 23,000km have been separated
into an elliptical orbit with an apogee at 26,000 and a perigee at 14,000km.
This suggests that the satellites are passing into the upper region of the
Van Allen radiation belts.
I'm not aware of any significant propulsion on board other than manoeuvring
thrusters.

Would have been a nice ride share though.

Thanks Alessio,

It seems we need to start looking for replacement Amateur-Satellite Service
spectrum in L-Band.

The first hurdle is to get IARU agreement on the need for replacement
spectrum, hopefully someone from AMSAT-NA is keeping ARRL briefed on the
matter since ARRL is a major force within IARU.

Getting the item on the WRC-2018 agenda will be a major challenge since
Agenda items are usually defined at the previous conference WRC-2015.

Hi,

I am pleased to announce that the latest version has been released.

It has a bug fix for the problem where the Sky Map was using the wrong
IARU locator and location.

I've also change the width of the satellite selector spinner so that it
shows more of the satellite name,

A late friend, an aeronautical engineer beginning in the early days of jets
and rockets, used to say
that they judged the success and progress of a cutting edge R&D project by
the amount of wreaked
equipment they had. By pushing things to the limit, they learned what
worked and what didn't. While
he was knowledgeable of the new computer techniques and heartily approved,
he thought that they tended
to make some people risk averse when testing to destruction made sense. I
would like to think that
somewhere he is smiling.
