This is a voice contact event and NOT a SSTV session. Translation of task
info "Conducting sessions * amateur radio with the Center for Space
Communications, St. Petersburg"

Following up on the 9612 and IC 910 problems: The diagnosis is the IC
910 had a problem, possibly caused by lightening, which damaged the FET
that provides PTT ground from the KPC 9612. I've sent the KPC to
Kantronics and the IC 910 to ICOM for repair. The 9612 Plus is a
current product and Kantronics will repair them. ICOM service centers
still repair the IC 910 but the person at the Washington center
indicated they may not for much longer. This is too bad because in my
view the 910 is still a great satellite rig.

Thanks for the clarification.

The confusing arises because the "Name ATEC (goal, conv. Designation)" that
the task is listed under is - "On Gagarin from space." Open transmission
with ISS RS by amateur radio link to ground receiving stations amateurs
around the world images of photographs devoted to the life and work of the
first cosmonaut Yuri Gagarin.

The UK's Sarah Brightman expects to start space flight training in January.
She may fly to the ISS in September 2015.

Her mission highlights the rapid escalation of launch charges in recent
years. In 2006 the Iranian-American engineer Anousheh Ansari paid $20
million for her mission to the ISS, Sarah will have to pay $52 million.

Probably not much more than throat lozenges, hi. Those will be some very
lucky astronauts to be serenaded by Sarah.
