I just received this message this morning (my comments afterwards):

The ARDC "staff" will not do any work outside of office hours, except to
answer minimal emails or to complain about "bad" behavior. Of course, we
"dedicated for decades" volunteers answer emails and solve problems at
any time when we can. Thanks for the report as I am still "moderated"
on their mailing lists after being "banned" for three months, just for
pointing out the emperor had no clothes on. They don't like the truth.
As for the "verification" again, do they REALLY thing that I would change
my cellphone and email every year? I have had the same cellphone number
since 1994 and the same email address since I started my domain in the
late 1990s. We volunteer coordinators in each country or state would be
able to keep in touch with people on our own, were constantly working
with them and knew more about them personally than the monolithic ARDC.
Let the volunteer coordinators do their jobs of coordinating!
