Quoc (AS-128) from 19 February to 6 March, and from the city of Hoi
An (mainland Vietnam) from 16 March to 6 April. Plans are to be QRV
mainly on 80, 40, 20 and 17 metres. QSL via eQSL or direct to

9U - Shabu, M0KRI will be active as 9U4RI from Burundi on 15-25
February. He will operate CW, SSB and PSK31 on 40-10 metres. QSL

C6 - Heli, DD0VR will be active as C6A/DD0VR from the Bahamas (NA-001
and possibly other island groups as well) between 21 January and 2
February. Usually he operates QRP on 80-10 metres CW and SSB. QSL

DL - Special callsign DR50DIG is active throughout 2019 to celebrate the
50th anniversary of the Diplom Interessen Gruppe. QSL via the

FM - Tom, K8BKM will be active as TO8T from Martinique (NA-107) on 12-19
February, including an entry in the ARRL DX CW Contest. QSL via

HC - Rick, NE8Z will be active again from Ecuador from 18 January to 6
February. He will operate CW, SSB and FT8 on 40-6 metres. Usually
he is QRV as HC1MD from Tumbaco (Pichincha Province), as HC1MD/HC2
from Punta Blanca (Santa Elena Province) and as HC1MD/HC7 from
Papallacta (Napo Province). QSL via LoTW, or direct to K8LJG.
JD1_oga- Once again Makoto, JI5RPT (http://www.ji5rpt.com/jd1/) will be
active as JD1BLY from Chichijima (AS-031), Ogasawara on 15-17
February. He will operate CW, SSB and digital modes on all bands,
including 630m JT9. QSL via home call direct or bureau; logsearch

KP4 - KP4RV, KP4RD and other Radio Operadores del Este ARC's members will
be active as KP3RE from Culebra Island (NA-249) on 22-24 February.
They will operate SSB, CW and FT8 "Fox & Hound" mode on 80-10
metres. Announced FT8 frequencies are 3567, 7056, 10131, 14090,
18095, 21091, 24911 and 28091 kHz. QSL for this operation via
EA5GL.
PJ4 - Look for PJ4/WW4LL and PJ4/NN9DD to be active from Bonaire (SA-006)
on 4-10 February. They will operate FT8, RTTY and SSB on all bands,
and will participate in the CQ WPX RTTY Contest (9-10 February) as
PJ4Z. QSLs via LoTW, or via K4BAI. [TNX NG3K]
TI - Mike, W1USN and Bob, AA1M will be active as homecall/TI5 from
Atenas, Costa Rica on 2-13 February. They will operate CW, SSB,
some digital modes, and hope "to catch a few of the FM satellites".

VE - Mike, VE7ACN will be active as VE7ACN/7 from Cortes Island (NA-091)
on 25-29 January. He will operate CW and SSB and possibly FT8, with
a focus on 40 and 30 metres for Europe. He will participate in the
CQ WW 160 Meter CW Contest as VE7ACN. QSL via Club Log's OQRS, LoTW

XV - Bogdan, SP2FUD as XV9FUD and Zen, SP2GCJ as XV9ZT will be active
from Vietnam on 4-18 February. They will operate CW, SSB and
digital modes on 40-12 metres. QSLs via LoTW, Club Log's OQRS, or

XZ - Akio, JE2QIZ (AC7XZ) has been in Myanmar for the last couple of
years, and finally received his license and callsign (XZ2B) on 11
January. He is allowed to operate between 20-300 MHz with 25 watts,
and within "only 20 kHz from the band edge" (so "I operate only
CW", he says). The license is valid for 150 days only. A QSL
manager is in the process of being appointed.
YB - Emmanuel, F5LIT will be active again as YB9/F5LIT from Bali Island
(OC-022) from 27 January to 6 February. QSL via home call (direct

YS - Tom, KC0W will be active as YS2/KC0W from El Salvador on 15-22
February. He will operate CW only on 80-6 metres. QSL via home
call, direct only. He does not use LoTW.

IOTA NEWS ---> "the last date for mailing applications or score updates to
checkpoints for inclusion in the 2019 Honour Roll and other performance
tables is 31 January 2019", G3KMA posted to https://iota-world.org/. "If
postmarked after that date, they will be processed in the normal way but the
scores will be held over to the following year's listing. It is important
that participants who have not updated since the 2014 annual listings and
wish to remain listed should make a submission on or before 31 January".
OPDX MAILING LIST ---> On 11 January the server that Tedd, KB8NW had used
since the late Eighties was "hacked and wiped", and the OPDX Bulletin's
mailing list "is probably gone for good". For the time being, the weekly

USI 25TH ANNIVERSARY AWARD ---> The United States Islands Awards Program
(USI) celebrates its 25th anniversary in 2019, and is offering a special
award for both chasers and activators running from 1 January to 31 December.
See http://usislands.org/25th-award/ for the details. USI covers islands
that are within the 50 states of the United States, and the U.S Territories
and Protectorates. These islands can be in lakes, rivers, and along the
coastal shore line.
