Owing to the ongoing and fluid nature of the COVID-19 situation globally,
announced activities might be cut short, postponed, cancelled or even
extended at any time and without notice.
5H - Charles, 5H3DX (NK8O) expected to leave the country on 21 March
[425DXN 1502], but he has changed his plans due to the COVID-19
situation. Although "we have not had a large outbreak", he says, "I
believe there is more good to be done by remaining in Tanzania,
especially since our usual caretakers are prevented from traveling
at this time. I also think I am safer in the long run". QSL direct
to home call.
G - Peter, G4XEX will be active as GB4SAH (Stay At Home) on 8-30 April
to help amateurs "pass the time during the lockdown".
GM - Euan, MM0VIK is active as GB1COR from his home QTH on Mainland,
Shetland Islands (EU-012) for the month of April in recognition and
support for "the health professionals and essential key workers"
during the coronavirus emergency. Apparently QSL cards will not be
available for this special callsign.
OH - "Pysy kotona" means "stay at home" in Finnish. Ten OH#PYSYKOTONA
special callsigns with OH0 to OH9 prefixes are active from 4 April
until 3 July to raise awareness for social distancing and remaining
at home during the COVID-19 pandemic. The activity is coordinated
by the Lahti Amateur Radio Club (http://www.oh3ac.fi/). QSL via
LoTW, eQSL, or via OH3AC.
OH - The Finnish Amateur Radio League (SRAL) is responsible for another
series of ten special callsigns, from OH0STAYHOME to OH9STAYHOME.
SRAL encourages to use a temporary Q-code (QSH, for Stay Happy &
Healthy) during contacts made during this "Stay Home Project", to
be run from 8 April through 8 July. QSL via OH2BAD. A number of
awards will be available. Information on the project can be found

ON - The Belgian regulator is issuing special callsigns to convey the
message "stay home, stay safe" until 19 April at least. Issued so
far are OR2STAYHOME (QSL via eQSL), OT20STAYHOME (QSL via eQSL),
OT2STAYHOME (QSL via ON7LU) and OT6STAYSAFE (QSL via ON5YL).
OZ - Special callsigns 5P0WARD and 5P0WHD will be active on 18 April in
celebration of World Amateur Radio Day. It was on this day in 1925
that the International Amateur Radio Union was formed in Paris. A
special award will be available for contacts made with 5P0WARD/xx
and 5P0WHD/xx stations with different suffix extensions; further
information can be found on https://www.qrz.com/db/5p0ward. QSLs
via Club Log's OQRS, LoTW and eQSL, or via OZ1ACB.
Other World Amateur Radio Day 2020 stations include 3Z0WARD
(Poland), AU20ARD (India), HZ1WARD (Saudi Arabia), LX5WARD (Luxem-
bourg) and TF3WARD (Iceland). QSL via operators' instructions.
VE - Radio Amateurs of Canada (RAC, Canada's IARU member society) will
hold a special on-air event to celebrate World Amateur Radio Day on
18 April, from 12.00 UTC to 23.59 UTC. The event is to encourage as
many amateurs as possible to get on the air and contact as many RAC
stations as possible. The RAC official stations that will operate
across Canada are VA2RAC, VA3RAC, VE1RAC, VE4RAC, VE5RAC, VE6RAC,
VE7RAC, VE8RAC, VE9RAC, VO1RAC, VO2RAC, VY0RAC, VY1RAC and VY2RAC.
A special commemorative certificate will be available. See

COVID-19 AND QSL CARDS ---> The COVID-19 situation is affecting postal
systems worldwide. International mail from several countries is not
operational right now, as airlines have suspended their postal deliveries.
Think twice before mailing direct QSL card requests, and be patient if your
coveted cards do not show up - the QSL managers are most likely waiting for
the service to resume.
Also, several IARU member-societies have announced that they are unable to
receive shipments of QSL cards for their bureaux during the current
emergency. Before sending shipments of cards to a national QSL bureau, the
IARU strongly recommends an inquiry to the member-society to confirm that
the package can be accepted.
PA5X/MM ---> On 6 April Johannes, PA5X (5T5PA) left Mauritania becausee of
the COVID-19 pandemic. While sailing back to the Netherlands on the vessel
"Dutch Power", he is QRV as PA5X/mm until around 18 April. He operates SSB
and FT8 on 40 and 20 metres. QSL via Club Log's OQRS, LoTW, or via PA5X. See

Mauritania as soon as the global situation improves and flights resume. "In
the meantime I will try to operate 5T5PA remote", he says.
TQSL: NEW VERSION ---> A new version (v2.5.2) of LoTW's Trusted QSL (TQSL)
has been released: http://www.arrl.org/tqsl-download. This version has new
features as well as corrections for defects found since TQSL 2.5.1 was
released. This release also includes an update to the most recent TQSL
configuration file. TQSL 2.5.2 can be installed to upgrade any older version
of TQSL. On all three supported platforms (Windows, MacOS and Linux),
installing TQSL 2.5.2 will replace older versions of Trusted QSL while
preserving your Callsign Certificates, Station Locations, and preferences.
