Collegiate QSO Party

The Collegiate QSO Party begins on Saturday, October 1 at 0000 UTC, and
runs through Sunday, October 2 at 2359 UTC. Each Fall, the Collegiate
QSO Party provides an opportunity for clubs to demonstrate amateur
radio to new members, engage with alumni, and promote activity
throughout college and university communities. The event is open to all
radio amateurs. For more information, visit collegiateqsoparty.com/
<https://collegiateqsoparty.com/>

California QSO Party

The 57th running of the California QSO Party (CQP) begins on Saturday,
October 1 at 1600 UTC, and concludes on Sunday, October 2 at 2200 UTC.
CQP Chairman, Dean Wood, N6DE, stated that all 58 California counties
will be active during this year's event. He also noted that there are
rule changes taking effect this year that participants should
familiarize themselves with. Visit
cqp.org/pdf/cqp2022_changes_summary.pdf
<file:///C:/Users/pbourque/Desktop/Contest%20Update/cqp.org/pdf/cqp2022_changes_summary.pdf>
for more about the rule changes.

Complete information about the event, including an operating guide and
a page with links to audio and video recordings from previous events is
available at cqp.org/index.html <https://cqp.org/index.html>.

-Thanks to Dean Wood, N6DE.

Pennsylvania QSO Party

The 66th Pennsylvania QSO Party, also known as the "Friendly QSO
Party," begins Saturday, October 8 at 1600 UTC and concludes on Sunday,
October 9 at 2200 UTC. Pennsylvania participants send a serial number
and their county. Stations outside of Pennsylvania send a serial number
and their ARRL section. There will be a bonus station on the air for
2022, KQ3F, operating from Lehigh County. Each contact with KQ3F is
worth 200 extra points.

Please visit www.paqso.org/index.html
<https://www.paqso.org/index.html> for full rules and information on
log submission, awards, and certificates.

-Thanks to Bud Trench, AA3B.

Society, occurs the second full weekend in October. The 2022 event
starts on Saturday, October 8 at 0300 UTC, and concludes Sunday,
October 9 at 2100 UTC.

The objective is to a work all 17 counties in Nevada. Nevada stations

stations. Stations can be worked once per band and mode
(SSB/CW/Digital) on HF, and only once on VHF+ frequencies. Complete
rules can be found at http://nvqso.com/.

-Thanks to Jim Shepherd, W6US.

Also occurring over the weekend of October 8 and 9 are the Arizona QSO
Party <https://www.azqp.org/> and the South Dakota QSO Party

sponsors' websites or check the Contests section in this newsletter.

==> BULLETINS

Radio Amateurs of Canada (RAC) reorganization effective January 1,
2023.

The Radio Amateurs of Canada (RAC) have announced a realignment of
their Field Organization resulting in the addition of a new section and
name changes to several others effective January 1, 2023. This will
result in the changes to ARRL contests that use ARRL/RAC sections as
multipliers, including Field Day, ARRL November Sweepstakes, and
160-Meter contests.

The RAC Field Organization will be reorganized into the following
sections effective January 1, 2023:

- Newfoundland and Labrador (NL)
- Nova Scotia (NS)
- Prince Edward Island (PE)
- New Brunswick (NB) - the Maritime Section (MAR) will be abolished.
- Quebec (QC)
- Ontario East (ONE)
- Golden Horseshoe (GH) - currently called Greater Toronto Area (GTA).
- Ontario South (ONS)
- Ontario North (ONN)
- Manitoba (MB)
- Saskatchewan (SK)
- Alberta (AB)
- British Columbia (BC)
- Territories (TER) - Northwest Territories, Yukon and Nunavut will be
combined into one section.

Note that this change is forthcoming and will not impact the 2022 ARRL
November Sweepstakes (CW/SSB) or 160-Meter Contests.

Please direct any questions to Dave Goodwin, VE3KG, Regulatory Affairs
Officer, RAC, by email at regulatory@rac.ca.
