Hi all,

Recently I read some articles related to the future of radio frequencies.
Some 'expert' opinions suggest reconsidering actual band allocations: David
Lum, a director in Motorola, says: "Regulators also need to recover unused
or underutilized spectrum from licensees" (RadioResource Intl., Worldwide
Buyers Guide 2015, pa. A group of scientists from University of North
Carolina Wilmington noticed that "... transitioning from analog to digital
television broadcasting ... freed highly desirable bandwidth between 54 and
698 MHz - a frequency range previously reserved for TV broadcasting."

Seems that those guys are going to hund for underutilized bands. The real
question is if FCC and ARRL will have enough goodwill to preserve our bands
that are used less than earlier. Although I myself do not live in USA and
am not closely related to US-based regulations, it is pretty obvious that
American experience will influence the rest of the world. It would be very
interesting to see and hear opinions and comments from US hams on that
matter. Tnx!

Regards, 73

Misko
