Have you confirmed that the kernel version in your distro will run the
AX.25 stack without error? There was some effort to fix old bugs, but
the last I tested a couple of months ago under Arch Linux running
AX.25 for a short period of time caused the system to hang. My advice is
to use an older distro. I like slackware because everything is on the DVD.
I think version 12 is the last one to have Linux AX.25 stuff in the EXTRA
category. I think you will find that it is way less frustrating, but if you
are an expert and can patch your own kernels and already have a stable
sistem running native AX.25, then maybe you can help me.

I have spent a lot of time. It is really cool getting this stuff
to work natively in Linux, but use older distros if you don't already
have a stable up to date system.
