Hello friends,

Last weekend's broadcast (program 213) ended with the painting "Usonian View" by Michelle Lewis. Here is the painting as received by Pete Brunelli in Rhode Island, as included in Pete's blog post about last weekend's show ...

I selected this painting because it has a connection to architect Frank Lloyd Wright. Last week, July 14-16, my wife and I drove to southwestern Pennsylvania to visit the Frank Lloyd Wright-designed house Kentuck Knob. It was during that tour that tour that I learned that Usonian refers to a group of (relatively) small, single-story dwellings designed by Wright.

In addition to an interesting tour, Kentuck Knob and our B&B in the highlands of southwestern Pennsylvania provided respite from the much hotter weather in the Washington DC area.

Videos of last weekend's Shortwave Radiogram (program 213) are provided by Scott in Ontario (Friday 1300 UTC), Frigid RF in Virginia (Saturday 1330 UTC) and Ralf in Germany (Sunday 2330 UTC). The audio archive is maintained by Mark in the UK. Analysis is prepared by Roger in Germany.

This weekend, there will be no gap-no-gap or other experiments, although be on the lookout for a surprise mode. Because the news stories are rather long, there are only six images during this show.

Here is the lineup for Shortwave Radiogram, program 214, 22-25 July 2021, in MFSK modes as noted:

 1:42 MFSK32: Program preview
2:47 Production of hydrogen fuel from surplus wind and solar
7:37 MFSK64: America's second man in space, 60 years ago*
17:51 This week's images*
27:31` MFSK32: Closing announcements

New York and Pennsylvania NBEMS nets. Most weekends, as KD9XB, I check in to the New York NBEMS (Narrow Band Emergency Messaging Software) net Saturday at 1200 UTC on 3584 kHz USB, and the Pennsylvania NBEMS net Sunday at 1130 UTC on 3583 kHz USB. Check-ins are usually in Thor 22, and messages are in MFSK32. Messages generally use the Flmsg add-on to Fldigi. If you are a radio amateur in eastern North America, feel free to check in. Outside the region, use an SDR in the eastern USA to tune in and decode. You do not need Flmsg to check in, and most of the messages can be read without Flmsg. If you can decode the net, send me an email to radiogram@verizon.net , or tweet to @SWRadiogram, and I will let them know you are tuned in. USEast NBEMS Net: Please also note the USEast NBEMS Net, Wednesdays 2300 UTC (7 pm EDT) on 3536 kHz USB.

Thanks for your reception reports!
