 Hello friends

It has been a noisy week here at the Elliott house. I'm not referring to RF noise. The chimney company was here to drill out the terra-cotta liners dating to 1941, when our house was built. New insulating materials were put in, along with stainless steel pipes leading from the fireplace and the furnace.

Maybe it's my imagination, but our house seems cooler on this very hot day. Perhaps the chimney company's sales pitch that indoor air will no longer escape up the chimney is accurate. We also have a new top-flue damper, so this winter I will be more confident about using the fireplace.   

This weekend on Shortwave Radiogram, it will be an all-English show. It includes a story about how climate-resilient tepary beans might be par of our future diet.
