As was stated by G8BPQ on the BPQ32 mailing list this morning, the BPQMail
software does not support the 4-letter convention for continents that was
the new convention as of 20 years ago. There was a station that wanted a
message to co to SYSOP@CEAM and it was instead trated like the old code for
North America (NA) and allowed to propagate to USA stations instead of the
intended forwarding partner for Central America. I see this all too often
even with thinhs like NLD (country code for the Netherlands) being forwarded
out of that country and spread out all over the world. Every sysop needs to
go over their forwarding rules and match intended bulletin flood areas with
the proper forwarding partner in that area. Any bulletins that do not match
USA areas or WW get dropped into my holding folder and deleted appropriately.
Let's all work together to keep the packet network clean and efficient.
