So I was on packet many years ago providing ECCOMâ€Ös for our county here in SEPA as alluded to by N1URO the internet and the counties CAD system made packet obsolete. That being said I have just found myself back on packet and was surprised to see the number of nodes still active, although most of the activity is using AXIP.
I just setup a 1270x tnc and have been monitoring some of the old packet frequencies that I used to use but so far have not heard any activity.
I would like to assist with any effort to find a purpose for packet radio again and get our fellow hams active again!
