Do you have younger kids ?
Do you have grandchildren ?
Would you like to show them some of the basic concepts in computer science ?
All you need is Internet Access and a web-browser to try MIT's Scratch programming language.
(in fact, if you have a Raspberry Pi, it's preloaded and you'll see Scratch's iconic cat on the Desktop when you startx.
What makes Scratch different from other languages ?
There aren't too many keywords (think Tiny Basic)
The programming environment is very graphic, colorful and intuitive.
If you can drag and drop, you can make programs in Scratch.
It's customary in Scratch to "share your work", make some edits (called a remix) and share again.
Accounts are free.
(you don't need an account to play existing programs)
So, visit the weblink below.
https://scratch.mit.edu/projects/95245633/
Read the instructions.
Tyically it's just a matter of clicking the green flag to get started.
And of course, please press the "see inside" button; and feel free to ask questions.
