Stating the obvious (;->) fast forward to the present, it is called
artificial intelligence or simply AI. Very early on the familiar word robot
was coined from the Russian word robotnik meaning worker. The fear of
machines taking over had begun and when I attended the 1964 World Fair it was
told to me that robots will free us and give us more free time. How very
true, the unemployed have nothing but free time as robots take over our jobs.
Now with AI takeover has become a real threat eg. Terminator, now robots have
the ability to take over the world.
Be afraid, be VERY afraid.
