Thank you for response. I have initially mentioned Yaesu radios because 
it is the brand of gear in my club. As I said, I even lowered the power 
to some 25W and right now (Tue Jul 13, 1414 UTC) I have a great pactor 2 
exchange with F3KT in France. No problem at all: FT-857 is not hot, fans 
are working during TX, and Alinco PS shows cca 4 amp on TX (not hot too).

Nevertheless, earlier today the club's prez YU7WW commented (after 
losing other arguments) that the "problem" is not just in the output 
power, but also in "so frequent TX/RX cycles" in pactor, so they are 
going to "screw up" TX/RX mechanism etc. It did not help when I told him 
that such changeovers are a feature of modem operations, and that all 
other hams who use them, work the same principle, but no one told that 
he or she "broke" his/her radio, HI.
