After several years of HF of improvements, I have ended up with this....

The features of this set-up are...

Home-made CQ repeating autocaller & off air recorder.
BHI DSP LS unit with larger LS gives 10-20dB of useful noise reduction.
Noise Nuller JPS ANC4 with front garden noise aerial, gives >15dB on 1 source.
IC735 used with it's very effective AF processor (clipper) & standard Mic.
IC735 sometimes used with very effective tuneable Noise Blanker or attenuator.
T500M PA draws 75A @12V so floating 2 batts with thick leads works very well.
My T500A ALC ensures the Amp can not be over driven even on 11V DC or bad SWR.
Scope is for monitoring Tx envelope & Rx Noise (timebase locked to mains).
Mains filter includes an earth choke.

ON AIR
I often get comments on how good the AF is, but it is just a well set up
standard AF clipper in the IC735 with it's toppy AF (do no clip bassy AF!!)
I always use mic up close, so background noise or room echo, keeping the ALC
drive level correct.

The PA helps a lot, but I often go back to QRP stations M6s etc, & when I run
their power, they often can't hear me, or would not have called me on QRP. I
have had very complementary reports on how clean (narrow) the QRO signal is.
Eg. "You are much stronger than me at a remote SDR Rx site & also narrower!"
So the old Commercial 1977 PA with it's high NFB & my ALC are keeping it all
clean.

The Autocaller CQ keeps a channel busy while I catch up with paper log, or get
the perfect SWR etc. & then I get called. But it does make for lazier operating
with less scanning.

The 3 noise systems, the rig's NB, BHI LS, & JPS Noise Canceller, all
complement each other very well. & sometimes all 3 are needed here in RF noisy
Croydon.

The Scope locked to mains can help adjust the Noise Canceller, as you can see
the offending neighbours PSUs & null out one pair of 100Hz noises only to see 2
more appear on another mains phase. Things like Wood Pecker or other non mains
locked 50Hz FM QRO sweep jammers are easily identifed too. The Tx Envelope
display shows up the peak compression (all nicely rounded if under ALC control)
with no hard clipped flat tops.
