Unlike the response below the Debian Bookworm packaged ax25 works FB here
on x86 both 32bit and 64bit. YMMV with non x86 systems.

It looks to me like the libax25 package is not installed. You can verify
the status with something like "dpkg -l libax25". I am unfamiliar with
BeagleBoneBlack and therefore unsure if you also need libax25-dev or not.
